Doctors just talk shit about women’s health don’t they

95% of diagnosis’s = stress/hormones.

I’ve had 28 day cycles since I was 14 years old. This month I’ve started a new period 13 days after the last one. Heavy, painful, dizzy, nauseous. The best the doctor can do is a head tilt and “are you stressed?” WE’RE ALL FUCKING STRESSED.

Amazing how 20 years of ups and downs have never affected my cycle. What scientific basis do they have to base stress as a cause of your whole hormonal cycle turning upside down? It’s just bullshit isn’t it

I went to the gp several times over 4 years with (what I now know were) textbook inflammatory bowel disease symptoms. At the exact typical age it usually begins.

Four years of misery and I was told it was ibs due to stress. Warning tmi - I was bleeding very heavily every day.

Would that have happened to a man, I don’t know...

I wonder how much of the general dissatisfaction with the NHS is due to bad treatment of women.

I have an excellent male GP who listens and doesn't cut corners. There is a female gynae GP in our practice who I saw when I was having horrendous menopause bleeding. I am about to request a meeting with the practice manager as this GP insisted that the huge amount of hormone laden meds she put me on were no risk to me and specifically not a breast cancer risk. Got a dismissive hand wave when I mentioned that. Anyway, the very large and aggressive breast tumour I developed within a few months, having had a series of clear mammograms while on a clinical trial, leaves me believing that she should have listened to my fears and explained the massive risks I was taking when I asked. She did not. It frightens me that this can happen so easily.

Have you ever read or watched anything by Dr Jessica Taylor? The misogyny in the medical system is everywhere, in everything. It's rather horrifying when you see it clearly.

Was having 2 weeks bleed stop for one week then 3 week bleeding one week break then another 3 weeks bleeding....

Went to doctor, could only get appointment with a male one and he blamed it on the pill.

I told him I was getting sharp burning pain

Ignored me still said it was the pill

I told him I'm not leaving something is not normal and finally agreed to send me for a scan

And good thing too, discovered I have fibroids one which is large and reason for the pain.

I wasn't impressed with him at all.
