That they have to spend all day pulling them back up??
Or is it just my dds (4&7)?

I find you have to buy them a couple of sizes bigger just to have any hope, then of course there's excess fabric and heel places are too long if they have them. Dd totally refuses to wear tights any more and just wears leggings under her dresses.

grey12 · 09/12/2020 09:43

Jiiiiiiiiii @snookercue I was just saying that it's cold and even if they don't wear skirts sometimes it's needed. Maybe your kids don't feel the cold. Great. It was a general comment. There's nothing wrong with you. I personally hate wearing tights but my kids seem to be alright with it.

Fuckingfuckssake · 09/12/2020 09:44

Footless tights helps a great deal, I have a tall skinny dd, if they're long enough in the leg then they're massive on the waist, I usually go for Boden, we make do with 2 pairs and I buy them when they're offering a discount.

snookercue · 09/12/2020 09:46

@grey12

Sorry, when you asked How many more layers do I have add??!!! Confused I did assume you were asking me, it generally. My mistake.

pinkbalconyrailing · 09/12/2020 09:47

buy a size bigger.

Apileofballyhoo · 09/12/2020 09:50

@StealthPolarBear

I buy a bigger size but find the m and s ones get a hole in after the first wear Angry
Got DS some M&S socks in Feb and they got holes in them in a few weeks. I was very surprised.
UnbeatenMum · 09/12/2020 10:02

I didn't really have that problem but both my DDs are average build. I did buy a size up too, but I tumble dry so tend to buy a size up in all clothes.

BrrrIsland · 09/12/2020 10:10

My Dd (7) has this problem too and refuses to wear them. She doesn’t really feel the cold though so she usually just wears knee high socks or sometimes leggings.

Simplyunacceptable · 09/12/2020 10:17

Yep and I have had this issue my whole life too so now tend to avoid wearing them at all costs. I buy school tights from M&S and Next so not cheap ones at all, my DD’s always have this issue...

alwaysonadiet1 · 09/12/2020 10:39

John Lewis school tights stay up ok

grey12 · 09/12/2020 12:24

@snookercue It was just a general "hufff" at DD's school. She wears like 4/5 layers of clothes under her winter coat and still says it's cold in the classroom Sad I never wore uniform in my life and I'm struggling with what to do regarding hers..... it's a short sleeve polo and a sweatshirt!

Nymeriastark1 · 09/12/2020 12:53

I always by a size smaller, but DD's at a growing point were she's to big for 2-3 but not big enough for 3-4. The size clothes she's in at the time I've always found the same size tights are far too long and end up half way on her legs half on the floor.

Nymeriastark1 · 09/12/2020 12:53

*buy

DeathMetalMum · 09/12/2020 12:55

We get a big pack of school rights from George at Asda neither of mine complain about them falling down.

midnightstar66 · 09/12/2020 13:05

Some dc are more tolerant and won't even notice. Mine are a bit whiney have some sensory issues surrounding clothes and neither can tolerate tights.

purpleme12 · 09/12/2020 13:06

Asda are one of the culprits that fall down

nevernotstruggling · 09/12/2020 13:07

Yes dd1 (11) refuses them altogether she is a giraffe

minipie · 09/12/2020 13:12

Pair of firm pants over the top to hold them up

Oh wow I’ve just remembered I used to do this!

Georgieporgie29 · 09/12/2020 13:17

My DD has little shorts to match her summer dresses so she doesn’t flash everyone whilst doing handstands. I put these over her tights. I have just bought her some tights like mine to try. Denier type ones as opposed to the woolly school ones, I’m hoping these might be a bit better. Like others o think it’s because she is just straight up and down and quite slim.

Illstartexercisingtomorrow · 09/12/2020 13:27

Scarby9 I have very clear memories of my mum picking me up by my tights to try to shake me back into them!

Hahahah! Thanks for making me laugh.

Love the pants on top suggestions - going to school like a superhero!!!
