How to keep feet warm for under desk?

My desk faces an outside wall so my toes are like ice, even with the heating on! Even with thick socks my toes are cold :(

Been using a hot water bottle but it keeps falling off my feet! Any suggestions specifically for feet will be greatly appreciated.. Prefer something I don't have to plug in, but will consider it too. TIA

@BusterTheBulldog

I have an electric heat mat under my desk- it has changed my wfh life! So toasty!
I think that's probably what I need, a heat source I can put my feet on - do you mind linking to the one you have? The ones I've seen on Amazon have very mixed reviews

You lot recommending big single slippers clearly don't have family that shop online. I spend half my life hurtling down flights of carpeted stairs to get parcels. Quite why nobody else feels competent and able to open the front door....

You can get heated mats for pets OP

What about combination of thermal socks and thermal boots ?

ParadiseLaundry · 08/12/2020 13:55

Op, I'm in the pound shop and have seen these and thought of you!

North face thermoball slippers have my saviour! I really feel the cold and I'm working in a room with poor heating. They're like a sleeping bag for your feet. They're not cheap but I picked up a pair that were considerably reduced in a mcaethur Glen outlet if you have one near you.

They're the ones I have Lolly.

I think they're designed for camping and there's an even warmer version than those, but I like the ones with the harder sole, because they're good when you go out to the bin, or to hang the washing out and the furry lined soft sole ones aren't as hardwearing and are a little too warm.

I think I paid £25-30 a pair for mine in a sale a year or two ago.

I have a fan heater on the floor next to my desk

Big blast every now works a treat

pinkbalconyrailing · 08/12/2020 14:18

a blanket or piece of foam to place feet on.
I find a hand towel is the perfect size to wrap feet in.
and yes to the hot water bottle under your feet.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 08/12/2020 14:30

If it's really cold and you're sitting still for hours at a time, I would suggest a tiny oil filled radiator. Yes it's electric, but they are quite energy efficient and good at keeping a small space from getting cold.

I have one I can pick up with one finger - it wouldn't heat a room, but it keeps my work area warmish. I refuse to shiver at my desk.

Thick socks aren't enough for me I also need fluffy slippers - I have reynauds so cold extremities are quite painful.
Plus get up and move periodically - sitting still will make it worse.

Something like this (mine is even smaller)

Thick wool socks and sheepskin boots. You’ll be reet.

CrazyDuchess · 08/12/2020 14:54

Mini fan heater 😍

2 or 3 layers of socks plus a wheat bag hot water bottle so you can drape over your feet or put under your feet with a towel or blanket on top. Keep moving too, stand up and walk around at least once an hour. I go for a brisk walk at lunchtime and come back so warm I’m stripped off to a t shirt!

Hot water bottle will keep them nice and toastie

Milkshake7489 · 08/12/2020 15:22

Get a dog- mine loves curling up on my feet under the desk Grin

Alternatively I've found Sheepers slippers to be the warmest option.

BiddyPop · 08/12/2020 15:24

I wear thick socks, cosy slippers and have my feet and legs covered by a fleece blanket (and occasionally have a hot water bottle against my back due to back issues as well as cold).
