What about Celebrations Sloth?

BiddyPop · 07/12/2020 07:47

My Christmas treats are in the wardrobe...so we get some over Christmas. I bought 2 6 packs of brunch bars 3 weeks ago and didn't get 1 from either box! DH is the gannet here, dd has taken to hiding things in a dried mango packet away from him!

potter5 · 07/12/2020 07:48

Love this thread!
I haven't even bought any chocolate yet!

Batshitkerazy · 07/12/2020 08:17

It wouldn’t even occur to me to save them until Christmas Grin

GameSetMatch · 07/12/2020 09:16

My husband cracked open the Roses tin last night whilst decorating the tree!

Pantsomime · 07/12/2020 09:18

I love you lot for making me feel better -3 chocolate oranges down & some mini Lindt Santa’s on a thing of about 6 ( darent check but they won’t last much longer)

ohidoliketobe · 07/12/2020 09:18

Ah it's December. Any festive treats are fair game from the 1st at my house!

rc22 · 07/12/2020 09:31

I bought three chocolate oranges as stocking fillers for various people. Anyway I was in a rotten mood last week as I was self-isolating and managed to eat a chocolate orange a day for three days. On Friday, I was talking to my mum who told me that she didn't want much for Christmas but definitely wanted me to buy her some Ferrero Rocher. I'd already bought her a tin of mini toblerones so DH and ate those over this weekend!!

TwentyViginti · 07/12/2020 09:34

But the mince pies bought at this time of year are just quality control, seeing which shops sell the nicest ones so you can get some more for Christmas.

Well, yes! this my view entirely!

DadOnIce · 07/12/2020 09:35

I have eaten
the Roses
that were in
the cupboard

and which
you were probably
saving
for Christmas

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so chocolatey

Spied · 07/12/2020 09:36

Bought a tub of Heroes on Saturday. Thought we could dip into them, have one or two here and there and they'd last us till Christmas. Sunday night I ate the last one.
I've a pouch of Quality Street in the wardrobe...

supermodel · 07/12/2020 09:38

We have a tub of celebrations and heroes in the boot of the car, they are not coming in the house as they’ll get eaten!

TwentyViginti · 07/12/2020 09:46

But you know where they live supermode.......

Update when you finally crack, Spied Xmas Grin

ssd · 07/12/2020 09:50

I bought myself a big box if Thorntons xmas chocs cos they were half price from tesco. They were for dh to give me. Sad I know.
Anyways after a shit week at work last week theres 2 left.....

PattyPan · 07/12/2020 09:50

No chocolates here but we have eaten several bags of crisps and tubes of Pringles which I saw were on offer and foolishly thought I could put away for Christmas. I have learnt my lesson - buy them the week of Christmas offer or not otherwise they won’t make it!

Angel2702 · 07/12/2020 09:51

We always open our Christmas hamper on 1st December and eat it throughout the month. We don’t save it all for the few days of Christmas so it’s usual to have gone through a fair amount by now.

ssd · 07/12/2020 09:52

And the xmas cheese is gone too....

One good thing. The baileys I got last year which has sat half finished in the bottom of the fridge all year has made an appearance and its perfectly drinkable...

I'd rather eat than drink..

Oblomov20 · 07/12/2020 09:54

same here.
at least we know we like it all. so , can buy again. only advantage!

HijabiVenus · 07/12/2020 09:55

Mice. Must be mice, same as I have. Oh wait "a big girl done it an ran away". They'll believe that.

Backbee · 07/12/2020 09:57

I thought I'd only buy a few Christmas bits as we don't need much for just the 3 of us...it's already mostly gone haha. I'm just going to buy some more little bits nearer the time.

AnneOfCleavage · 07/12/2020 09:58

Spied I say this every year when I open a tub of chocolates only to have them polished off by that same weekend of opening.

So far we have got through one tub and one large pouch of Celebrations and one pouch of Heroes in ONE week plus 4 net bags of mini puds and sprouts 😲 I can only presume it's the elf Wink

lazylinguist · 07/12/2020 10:03

You bought them 'for Christmas'? Yeah right. Grin I'm assuming most people who buy those big tins of horrible chocolates in early December know full well that they'll eat them well before Christmas and will have to buy another tin!

beingsunny · 07/12/2020 10:04

Don't worry, I ate the giant toblerone I bought for my sons stocking last week Grin

BasiliskStare · 07/12/2020 10:12

@DadOnice - Brilliant - I remember when that poem was part of the "Poetry on the Underground" thing - which probably ages me somewhat as I wasn't very young at the time Blush

Teddy1970 · 07/12/2020 10:28

As soon as the tree goes up the Christmas goodies come out, we're on our third tin of Quality Street already!
