Weird itch in..dodgy place.

Obviously a doctor could answer me better, and am currently trying to speak to one, have been for over a week but fanny issues seem to be not important righ now. So asking here for if anyone has had something similar, and how they sorted it. Was going to namechange for this but then figured I would maybe be marked as a troll given the topic!

So about 3 weeks ago, one tiny spot on my vulva became very itchy. There was nothing there, no cuts or anything, and it was, and still is, only in that very specific area. Its a patch maybe 1cm wide. I have no itching anywhere else so ruled out thrush as that would be weird to only be on a tiny part I think? Its itchy beyond belief..and confusing me a lot as still theres nothing that can be seen, I can feel no lumps, I don't shave down there so its not ingrown hair or anything..

I bet I regret posting this the second I press it. But has anyone else had this? Not sure whether to be massively worried or not, and its certainly not helping being put off repeatedly by the doctors..

So, anyone ever had anything similar, or even care to take a guess what this could be?! I am stuck.

Guesses:
Fungal patch
Eczema (sp)
Dermatitis (sp) esp if using highly scented detergent
Knickers developed a fault, irritating your skin
Litchen sclerosis (hope not)

Thoughts?

FlibbertyGiblets · 01/12/2020 20:56

I would try
Canestan type cream or
Sudocreme or
Eurax cream

Sorry for weird spacing, phone is having one of those days.

Mrsjayy · 01/12/2020 20:58

Try eurax cream see if that helps.

Could it be an ingrown hair maybe?

bunintheoven88 · 01/12/2020 21:12

Just read your post properly OP 🤦‍♀️

nevertrustaherdofcows · 01/12/2020 21:13

Lichen sclerosus, I bet you.

VulvaPerson · 02/12/2020 00:39

Sorry, got very distracted and forgot about this..

Have tried sudocreme, thats my go to solution for many problems. Canestan did't work either. Have not heard of Eurax cream but will get some of that tomorrow and see.

No dicolouration or anything, so probably not Litchen sclerosis. Something else I have never heard of until today, then was terrified to actually search it! But it looks like that would make visible changes, which it hasn't (yet, hopefully wont)

Vaginal atrophy?

Would this not be more..well in the vagina? Its kind of on the outer part, almost betwee lip and leg..

Getting quite stressed about it due to no medics being willing to try and help. I mean, its probably likely its nothing, but, i tmight not be.

Also only just realised, I didnt namechange so I didnt come across as a weird troll. However, my username with this thread, looks more dodgy than a first post! Name was chose long before this happened, the name is not a result of it Blush

Don't use Eurax on your undercarriage without medical advice Sad
Vagisil?

INeedNewShoes · 02/12/2020 01:04

I've had similar in the past. Just a fungal thing. It was stubborn to clear up but anti-fungal cream eventually did it. In the meantime, I recommend the M&S shorts knickers that are cotton and don't have elastic around the groin area so that you don't have elastic or other materials irritating the area.

sofiaaaaaa · 02/12/2020 01:07

I would take an antihistamine for a few days and see if it naturally heals within that time

Skyecat · 02/12/2020 02:09

Can you get to a sexual health clinic and get it swabbed? Not suggesting it's an std, but clinics diagnose and treat all kinds of issues 'down below'.

coronafiona · 02/12/2020 03:07

Speak to a dr about this urgently.

MaMisled · 02/12/2020 03:53

I'm with coronafiona......speak to your GP ASAP.

DinosApple · 02/12/2020 07:03

Yes, see the doctor.
There's lots of things it could be, but it's been three weeks, it's not gone on its own and it could be something nasty. Cancer of the vulva needs to be ruled out, it's a tiny, tiny chance - particularly if you are younger.

I wouldn't have known it was even a thing until a family experience a few years ago.

VulvaPerson · 02/12/2020 09:53

I have been trying to speak to a GP, I have rang yet again this morning as they say if you ring at 8am you are more likely to get seen, but no appointments and receptionist has decided (well, decided a while back now) that its not serious enouh for a same day triage Hmm

Chemist has said, that Eurax is ok to try but I should do a test first..on my armpit?! That sounds odd. I guess maybe its because skin is sensitive on armpit or something and if it causes a reaction, better in the armpit than the fanny..just struck me as quite odd.

Now looking for sexual health clinic, as ours is closed at the min. I am fairly sure it is not a STI though tbh, as due to other health issues, I have not had sex at all in months now.

Annoyed and worried in equal measure.

I had similar. GP examined me but couldn’t find anything and thought it might be fungal. They suggested I try aqueous cream and that seemed to do the trick.

coronafiona · 02/12/2020 22:51

@VulvaPerson how did you get on?

Mehbloodymeh · 02/12/2020 23:11

Go to a GUM clinic. I went today for something similar, I knew it wasn't an STI but I figure they see more fanyards than my GP does.

Transpired to be an inflammatory response to a immune issue I have. I'm now happy to ring GP if it gets worse and say I've had this checked by a specialist and this is what they diagnosed and make a plan from there.

Hope you're getting sorted.

minipie · 02/12/2020 23:27

I get similar patches every so often. It’s been diagnosed as vulval eczema. It originally kicked off after thrush, but it stayed long after the thrush was gone.

tortoiseshell1985 · 02/12/2020 23:30

I also get this was treated as mild dermatitis
Mild hydrocortisone ice pack to soothe itch when it flares up
