Secret Santa £10 gin-based present!!

I've picked a lady in our work secret Santa who is lovely but I don't know her that well. From her FB and general chat, I've gathered she likes gin. What can I get for £10 that isn't just a cheap brand? I'd rather get something good quality but smaller or something stylish. She's late 20s and quite cool!! (Two things I am not...). Thanks so much!

Master of malt do a gin tasting kit that is on offer for about £10, I bought it as a stocking filler. It's usually £20 or so.

CormoranStrike · 30/11/2020 15:58

Test stock a very nice Parma violet Gin liqueur which costs £9.99.

You could look for a nice gin glass, or gin botanicals sets which would come in at that budget. In the botanicals you often find juniper, peppercorns, cardamom, hibiscus. They are lovely for adding to a gin if you want something easily used.

@VienneseWhirligig do you know where you got that gin tasting kit for £10? I can only see it at full price.
It would be perfect for my daughter

MyDucksArentInARow · 30/11/2020 16:06

Literally in the same boat. Chase Gin minis. Chase Gin is delicious. I love the apple and Bramley. Each mini is £5. I buy enough to qualify for free shipping and keep some for ad hoc gifts as I need.

All the supermarkets have gin gift sets around the £10 mark for a few minis in a nice box or mini and a gin glass.

Like this one at Tesco's!

Costco online have a pack of Christmas gin baubles, price varies by area I think but it's around £8-12 for 9 baubles.

fussychica · 30/11/2020 17:26

Saw some taster sets in Asda around that price when I last went. You can also buy gin truffles and gin lip balm. I got them both for a gin obsessed friend last year, along with a bottle of her favourite brand.

Plump82 · 30/11/2020 17:27

Aldi do very good gins for around that price. Better value.

wonkylegs · 30/11/2020 17:36

@NottinghamFlorest Morrison's are doing a gin Christmas baubles set for £10 atm

PinkShimmerSparkle · 30/11/2020 17:38

John Lewis gin glass, they have a lovely gold star one at the moment.

Personalised glass? I got a really nice one from NOTH last year but they do these on Etsy too. Then make a little hamper up with some gin-in-a-tin or a small taster bottle.

RubyFakeLips · 30/11/2020 17:44

Monogrammed Glass? Think Anthropologie do one for about £12, currently have 25% off.

Otherwise google as I've seen them in lots of places. Look more expensive than they are.

TooMinty · 30/11/2020 17:45

I'd go for a taster set rather than a big bottle of the Parma violet one, it's a bit of a marmite one (love it or hate it - I can't stand it but my friend thinks it's gorgeous).

RubyFakeLips · 30/11/2020 17:48

Also don't know if you have Amazon Prime but Edinburgh Gin seems to be on offer on there in various flavours for a tenner today.

StrawberryPi · 30/11/2020 17:52

Could you get some cheap gin and flavour it yourself? There are loads of recipes here and it would be quite unique https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/flavoured-gin-recipes

I love raspberry, plum or Christmas spiced gins that I make/infuse myself! Some only need to steep for a few days or a week so there is still time!

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 30/11/2020 18:13

I bought a mini gin set off amazon for around a tenner, a set with taster gins and tonics.

stargirl1701 · 30/11/2020 18:15

Christmas Gin Bauble!

The farm shop near me sells Pickerings ones singly.

Try M&S?

BiscuitsUnited · 30/11/2020 18:32

I got 2 sets of gin baubles last year- all tasted absolutely vile (and I'm not even particularly fussy about my gins!). Just tasted like v sweet artificially flavoured alcohol.

I'd stick to a present with a decent brand of gin tbh.
