Mine has never been so high! It’s on a meter but at the end of the payment year ( March/apkril I think it was) I got £700 Back due to overpayment

What does everyone else pay?

O.68 cents per cubic metre.
I don't know how many cubid metres we use though. Grin

PowPurry · 26/11/2020 12:43

It was over £800 a year. Also on a meter. This was with me trying my very best to limit use. No paddling pools. Only flushing when needed etc amongst a ton of other things.

Until I saw on their website a reduction we were entitled to (shocked as we are not normally entitled to anything).
It was a bit confusing but I read it as if you have 3+ children and one of them has a medical condition that may require more water usage. One of those was excema which one of my children has.
However when I spoke to them it was actually either 3 or more children, or a household member with one of the listed medical conditions.

So for anyone struggling it’s definitely worth speaking to your provider. Mine has now gone from £78 odd pound a month to £22 ish.

Gancanny · 26/11/2020 13:07

£45 a month standing charge as we don't have a meter although the council have sent a letter saying it'll be included in our rent from April along with how much the new rent will be, when I worked it out our water will be £35 a month on once its absorbed into the rent so basically no more water rates but our rent will go up £35 instead.

£30 a month for 2 of us on a meter, we've got a newborn now so expect a bit of an increase

SillyMoomin · 26/11/2020 13:15

Jeez Blush

(Whispers)

£110 every 6 months. No meter. 2 adults and I have a hot deep bath almost every night. DH and I shower everyday.

Can’t believe how high some other charges are!

TheQueef · 26/11/2020 13:16

You do need to be in receipt of certain benefits though.

0... I live in Ireland though...

RaininSummer · 26/11/2020 13:22

67 a month 2 people on a meter. No idea why so high as we aren't water wasteful. Not a leak as when I had a leak it shot up to 97 pcm which I did get a rebate for. .

GOODCAT · 26/11/2020 13:22

£8 a month, but no kids and only a shower, no bath.

gillianan · 26/11/2020 13:24

25 a month. 3 bed but only 2 adults in it.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 26/11/2020 13:24

£27 per month, DD and I.

THNG5 · 26/11/2020 13:30

Funnily enough, I've just had to call Thames Water to make an appointment for a water meter. I've been putting it off as I really don't want one. We currently pay £27 a month. We're a family of 6; 2 adults and 4 young children. I'm dreading what our new bills are going to be like.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/11/2020 13:31

£20 a month. Will have gone up due to increased covid washing though, I have to wash my uniform every night.

BlackPetunia · 26/11/2020 13:31

Wow!!

Ours is £44 a week.... so they say! Then I massively overpay....so they say!

Daily it’s 4 showers and 2 moderate baths
Normal washing up activity
Outside tap for watering in summer ... no small kids so no pool or water play

3 toilets

Zero. We don't have mains water. So ours is free from the sky.

Northernsoullover · 26/11/2020 13:36

I pay 5 per week. One bath per week (just to do my foliage Wink) 2 - 3 loads of washing. Slimline dishwasher 3 times a week and 2 small bowls of washing up a day. 21 showers per week between the 3 of us.

PowPurry · 26/11/2020 13:36

Yes, apologies I think you are right. 3+ children and a means tested benefit. I think tax credits were included with this.

Herbie0987 · 26/11/2020 13:38

We are 2 adults one retired one working from home, £17 per month.
We only have showers out of choice, have water butts for the garden.
We went onto a water meter years ago and saved a couple of hundred pounds a year.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/11/2020 13:40

Ooh I just thought, we’ve got a soakaway (7yo new build) and I applied to the water board for a surface water charge refund as we aren’t putting water off our roof into the sewers.

I had to do a drawing showing where the soakaway was but everyone on the street got a refund too.

piglet81 · 26/11/2020 13:42

Ours has just gone up from £26 to £150/month (metered). I rang Thames water in horror and they said it’s because the previous bill was based on estimated meter readings as they weren’t allowed to read the meter in the spring (even though it’s under the pavement outside...). We’ve been wfh full time since March so our usage has obviously gone up. Previously one or other of us adults would shower at the gym each day, and we had some building work done over the summer which uncovered a leak, so I guess it’s a number of factors. Still a bit Shock to be suddenly paying 6x as much...

wendz86 · 26/11/2020 13:43

£17 a month on a meter.

poorbuthappy · 26/11/2020 13:45

We pay £62 per month rates not metered.
Family of 5 - washing / showering / dishwashing continually.
I will not go onto a meter.

I am in awe of the PP playing £27 on rates.

JumpingJamboree · 26/11/2020 13:47

£0 per year technically as we have a borehole but if something goes wrong with it, it can easily be in the thousands Confused
