ginghamtablecloths · 25/11/2020 12:42

Can't stand Roy Chubby Brown or Jim Davidson.

Like Rob Brydon and Jo Brand.

Enko · 25/11/2020 12:43

Favourite Dave German

Least favourite Jo Brand

furrypesto · 25/11/2020 12:44

Fav: Stewart Lee, the way he weaves a narrative in his stand ups is genius and without sounding too dramatic there have been times where he's made me glad to be alive. I also like Tommy Tiernan, Johnny Vegas, James Acaster. Also like Sean Lock (and he lives near me so I see him out and about)

Least: John Bishop, Shappi Khorsandi (agree with pp re trying too hard), Peter Kay

aquamarine1 · 25/11/2020 12:45

Favourites: Romesh as mentioned a few times, Mark Nelson, Aisling Bea

Least favourite : the many, many sexist ones

SpikeWithoutASoul · 25/11/2020 12:48

Favourite: Bridget Christie and Katherine Ryan

Least favourite: James Acaster. I know he’s hugely popular but I just don’t find him funny.

Clawdy · 25/11/2020 12:53

Favourite : Tim Vine
Least favourite : Jimmy Carr

justleavemebe · 25/11/2020 12:55

Thanks everyone, this is cheering me up today. I've been home since last Thursday and needed something to cheer me up. What a better way than laughing your socks off Grin

giantangryrooster · 25/11/2020 12:57

Favorites Dara O'Brian by a long shot, and Sindhu Vee. Also Rhod Gilbert but I get a sore throat listening to him as is so shouty Grin.

Too many i dislike.

giantangryrooster · 25/11/2020 12:58

Sorry O'Briain (thank you autocorrect).

AdoptedBumpkin · 25/11/2020 13:00

Don't really have a favourite but like Jo Brand, Jason Manford, Kevin Bridges to name a few.

Least favourite is possibly Frankie Boyle. I do laugh at him sometimes, but he comes across a bit mean spirited - rather than just cynical - and I cannot forget that he once mocked the parents of a down's syndrome child. Sarah Millican grates a bit sometimes.

Aposterhasnoname · 25/11/2020 13:00

Dave Allan is my favourite, all day long. Do yourself a favour and google Dave Allan Pow escape (it’s a sketch rather than stand up but trust me)

You can thank me later.

NastyBlouse · 25/11/2020 13:04

Favourites: Victoria Wood, Michelle Wolf, Frankie Boyle, Joan Rivers, Lily Savage, Andi Osho (she doesn't do much stand-up these days), Stewart Lee, Billy Connolly, Kenneth Williams (does he count? more raconteur than stand-up really), Dave Allen, Hannah Gadsby, George Carlin

Dislike: Sarah Millican, Michael McIntyre, John Bishop, Ricky Gervais, Bill Hicks, Sarah Silverman

OrigamiOwl · 25/11/2020 13:07

Favourites: John Robbins, Ivo Graham, Darren Harriott, David Gorman, Sarah Pascoe, Mark Watson. All fairly gentle.

Least favourite: Rhys James. He comes across as a nasty little boy who was bullied at school and now has the power to pick on other people. Hopefully he's actually nice and it's just a persona, but it puts me right off.

Happy days for me was staying up late to watch Dave Allen when I was about 9 or 10. I still remember that sketch and the harakiri ones. And Heathcliff and Cathy!
MaudesMum · 25/11/2020 13:15

As long as we're allowed to include dead ones: Victoria Wood is the best. Not only her stand-up, but her writing generally - I saw some re-runs of Dinner Ladies not long ago and they're still brilliant. Also, Jeremy Hardy, and the late great Ken Campbell (although strictly he was a performer, not a comedian). Least favourite (and all alive), Ricky Gervais, Michael McIntyre and Jimmy Carr.

lovelemoncurd · 25/11/2020 13:19

Favourite: Sean Lick, Stewart Lee, Greg Davies

Least: Michael mackintyre, that kids that goes round with his dad and the bald little Britain guy.

Lonelycrab · 25/11/2020 13:25

Fave: probably the late Bill Hicks

Don’t really have a least fave as I’d just stop watching if I wasn’t laughing

TheMarzipanDildo · 25/11/2020 13:25

Favourite- Tim Minchin

Least- I don’t know tbh, I only ever like or feel ambivalence towards comedians. Maybe back in the day when the sexism was more overt I might have had stronger feelings.

Titsywoo · 25/11/2020 13:27

I have loads of favourites - Zoe Lyons, Tim Minchin, Russell Howard, Jim Jeffries, Hal Cruttingdon, Ricky Gervais, Michael McIntyre

I'm not so keen on Lee Evans (too bouncy and sweaty)

ilovepuggies · 25/11/2020 13:29

Love - Jack dee, jo brand, Peter Kay, lee Evans

Dislike - Jonny Vegas 🤮

meow1989 · 25/11/2020 13:30

Faves: Daniel Kitson (whose stories are are brilliant as his stand up) Josie Long, James Acaster. I like Make Happy but no much other Bo Burnham,

Least : aside from racists or sexists, michale macintyre, Sarah millican, Jimmy carr etc

Aposterhasnoname · 25/11/2020 13:31

Yes! And the Pope, my staunchly catholic grandma used to cry with laughter at the religious stories and sketches.

thismeansnothing · 25/11/2020 13:32

Kerry godliman, Dave gorman, Adam buxton

Don't like shappi korsandi, Lee Evans or Michael macintyre
