I am very short and very fat, 4ft10 and almost 1st Blush

I'm 30 and before dc I was around 9st and still felt a bit chunky, would love to be around 8st.

Im currently doing a sort of intermittent fasting - no breakfast apart from a couple of cups of coffee (semi skimmed milk no sugar) and then a salad or soup for lunch and a small healthy dinner.

But was wondering what others who are around the 8st mark eat in a day? I need some inspiration!

I am 8st 2oz and 5'4". I have one of two oat milk coffees for breakfast, and then toast for lunch, and then dinner plus snacks in the late afternoon/evening. I have to feel hungry where my stomach rumbles twice a day to stay this weight. I exercise too every day.

Stationfork · 23/11/2020 09:00

I'm 5ft and have just managed to lose weight after creeping up to 10st 2 which was really overweight for me.

I was 8 stone for most of my life without trying but then after 30 metabolism left the building.

I'm now down to 8st 6 and target weight is 7st 12 so little bit more to go.

I've done it by doing keto diet, so hardly any carbs basically. It takes dedication.

It took 2 months to lose 20lbs so if you stick to it, relatively quick.

I’m 5,3 and just under 8 stone; I have;
Digestive biscuit when I get up (although trying to stop this)
Cereal for breakfast
Nakd bar or similar mid morning
Lunch if jacket potato and tuna/small amount of pasta with pesto bulked up by salad and cooked chicken/beans on toast
Something sweet after lunch lunch like a little lunch box chocolate bar
If I’m hungry at kids dinner time I have fruit
Dinner - salmon and pasta/chilli with wrap/chicken breast in pitta bread
I’ll have puddings and wine at the weekend and keep unhealthy dinners to the weekend
I did WW to lose a stone I put on after having a baby and the main thing I learnt is to have a balanced substantial lunch as it stopped me snacking all afternoon or having energy crashes

Air.
But I'm not greedy with it

ritzbiscuits · 23/11/2020 09:08

I'm 40, 5' 3" and 8 1/2 stone stable weight. Post kids I'm happy with this weight and for me it's not worth the pain of trying to get myself down to 8 stone pre baby weight. I used to think I was a bit too thin at that size anyway.

In a day I tend to each fruit/bran flakes for breakfast, salad/soup/jacket potato for lunch and a home cooked dinner (but will include pasta/rice/small amount of potatoes). Very little processed food, chocolate/crisps, plenty of water. Have moved carbs to wholewheat versions too.

My husband has lost a stone over the summer by eating 12-7, massively ramping up his vegetable intake, reducing carbs and cutting out the crap, snacks and sweets. He has a little more to lose, I'd say reducing carbs and increasing other veg has really helped him.

I should add that I’m quite active with two young children and do quite a lot of walking

BillywigSting · 23/11/2020 09:09

Should say 14st in op! Whoops! So have a long way to go.

I've massively reduced carbs and strangely (or perhaps not) already feel much much better for it. It's only been a week.

I'm a bit hungry but not unpleasantly so, just enough to make food taste a bit better.

BillywigSting · 23/11/2020 09:13

I'm also quite active in work (12 hour shifts in a nursing home, it's pretty full on) and walk there and back three times a week a mile each way, but quite sedentary on my days off apart from the school run /shopping /cleaning.

I'm 40, 5ft 4 and just under 8 and a half stone. I usually have fat free Greek yoghurt and granola for breakfast, some sort of salad for lunch, a protein bar or shake during the day then a healthy evening meal such as sweet potato and cottage cheese or egg and pasta. I may have some fruit or nuts or another yoghurt in the evening. I weight train 5 times per week and do 15000 steps every day

Notcontent · 23/11/2020 12:25

I have always been around that weight.

I always beat breakfast. Latte plus toast or pastry or overnight oats or eggs and toast on the weekend.

A salad baguette or similar for lunch. Maybe some fruit.

Dinner will be something like rice and stir fry, or pasta, or fish with potato wedges and vegetables. Sometimes with a small glass of wine. Sometimes a piece of chocolate.

I do move a lot. I do a desk job but I walk a lot (no car) and at home I am constantly up and down the stairs tidying up, etc.

Notcontent · 23/11/2020 12:26

Eat not beat!!!!

Sarahandduck18 · 23/11/2020 12:28

Gigia how do you do that many steps in a day??

Are you on your feet from dawn to dusk?

Ridingthegravytrain · 23/11/2020 12:36

I eat lowish carb and unprocessed foods. No junk (crisps or chocolate or alcohol) except at weekends. Because it makes me feel rubbish Angry

Typical day is 4 rice cakes with generous amount of peanut butter for breakfast. And coffee with milk.

Lunch 3 egg omelette with as much veg or salad as I like followed by a homemade pancake (gluten and dairy free)

Dinner mainly veg like stir fry or Cauli rice and peas and broad beans with chicken or fish or casserole/curry/bolognese I’ve made

Around 8 I have natural yoghurt and linseeds and maybe more rice cakes with peanut butter.

reducingfootprint · 23/11/2020 12:37

i am 5ft 2 and abut 7 and a half stone
i need around 1400 calories to maintain my weight, i drink plenty of water, not much caffeine as it dehydrates you, not much alcohol

i eat veggies with lunch and dinner daily, do not snack but instead fill up at meal times, i find snacking makes me hungrier especially if its just fruit, do not be scared complex carbs,
walk at least 10k steps daily, weight train 3 times a week and run 10k once a week

InTheseUncertainTimes · 23/11/2020 12:43

I'm 5ft 1, 8st 2 (ish) and a size 8. I wouldn't really say I'm petite, so maybe don't qualify. Just short and normal weight, but actually a bit stocky?

I eat about five times a day, but not huge amounts at a time.

Breakfast usually Greek yogurt with seeds and berries. Sometimes bran flakes or overnight oats.

Snacks (two a day) usually fruit, but also rye crackers with almond butter, and a fair bit of chocolate these days, and random other bits (I'm really into salty seaweed thins right now).

Lunch is often one large slice of rye bread, or a small bread roll, with some combination of things like avocado, egg, cheese, ham, sauerkraut, cucumber, tomato.

Dinner varies a lot. Yesterday we had sausages with sweet potato wedges and salad. Today will salmon, potatoes, and what's left of the salad. Fairly common for us to skip the startchy sides (potatoes, rice etc) for veggies, but that depends on how hungry we're feeling.

I drink black coffee and herbal teas mostly, but am not tea total at all. In fact right now probably drinking a few too many rum & cokes a week.

I do 10,000 - 16,000 steps a day with some form of exercise on top of that every day (gym workouts when those are open; home workouts atm, some weights and some cardio, some yoga for flexibility). I'm in my 40s and feel quite well in myself physically.

Caspianberg · 23/11/2020 12:51

5’4, 8 stone. 30 years.
I literally eat anything, and don’t ‘diet’.

I think I’m generally just fairly on the go all day, don’t eat large portions and naturally not much ‘junk’. (Although I do eat junk occasionally)

I had first baby 6 months ago and went up to 11st pregnant, but the weight has come off quickly and back down to 8stone. I am breastfeeding which I think takes a fair amount off as well.
As well as rarely sit down as stuff to do all day and baby only naps when I walk.

Yesterday:
Breakfast: boiled egg, toast.
Lunch: leftover sausage and lentil casserole, with some bread.
Snack: yogurt and x2 biscuits
Dinner: chicken and mushroom in white wine sauce. Roast potatoes and carrots. But of dark chocolate afterwards

I don’t usually snack either, but have done since pregnant/ breastfeeding

NJool · 23/11/2020 12:55

I’m 5ft and 9.7stone. Hmmmm. Definitely trying to get back down to around 8 stone.
I think my problem is I eat late and go to sleep. Lockdown hasn’t let me exercise as much

InTheseUncertainTimes · 23/11/2020 12:56

Re-read what I wrote and it somehow looks like not much, but I do eat 1500-2000 Kcal a day, easily. I don't count them at the moment except very occasionally. My Fitbit tends to put my caloric output around an average of 1900 Kcal (I know that's not that accurate, necessarily) and my weight is stable, so clearly I'm eating a right amount one way or another.

AnxiousPixie · 23/11/2020 12:56

5.2 and just under 7st although was 10st at the beginning of lockdown.

Switch dinner plates for salad plates really helps with smaller portion sizes.

A normal day looks like.....

2 weetabix and milk for breakfast
4 crackers and a small amount of cheese for lunch
Whatever everyone else is eating for dinner for only about 400 cals of it (tonight is spag bol so that will be 50g of dried pasta and 100g of the meat sauce)

I have unlimited amounts of fruit and veg so I'm never hungry, that's what I reach for if I need a snack.

Doing that and more exercise I've shed just over two stone although it's taken me since the beginning of April.

I didn't really think I was overweight in March I was just the biggest I had been ever and wasn't happy in myself.

NJool · 23/11/2020 12:57

I meant to add that eating my toddlers leftovers didn’t help me at all.
The calories sneak in when you actually write it all down!

Fizbosshoes · 23/11/2020 13:04

I'm just under 5ft and weigh around 7st 5. I think part of it is luck. I am pretty greedy eat all sorts including chocolate and snacks.
I'd normally have fruit, Greek yogurt and granola for breakfast
Sandwich and a chocolate biscuit at lunch
Maybe a bag of crisps or an apple (or both) in the afternoon
Dinner might be pasta, or meat/fish with potatoes and vegetables, or chilli and rice etc.
Then half a bar at least 2 squares of chocolate after that. Blush

SuperPixie247 · 23/11/2020 13:19

5ft and 6stone 13 here.

I tend to have 2 coffees for breakfast, occasionally a bowl of porridge from the microwave.

Lunch can be soup, beans on toast, hot or cold sandwich.

Tea can be pasta, salmon/chicken with sauce and rice, curry, stir fry or a stew sometimes.

Thirdlifecrisis · 23/11/2020 13:52

No set menu but small portions, limited snacking. Generally a 15cm diameter bowl sized portion for each meal or less (probably half for breakfast), and 1-2 snacks (piece of fruit, packet of crisps, chocolate bar or cake). Lots of veg with meals.

No calorific drinks and limited alcohol (I'm not a fan of fizzy drinks anyway). I'm snacking a lot now (preggers) but aiming to break the snack habit when I've finished breast feeding.

FeatherySquawkington · 23/11/2020 14:26

I'm 5ft 1 and weigh 7st 2. I just have a cup of tea for breakfast, a piece of fruit and packet of crisps for lunch and all sorts of stuff for dinner - yesterday it was roast potatoes, cream cheese stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon and veg. Tonight it's cottage pie and veg. Always been very petite but smaller now than I have been in 11yrs.

FeatherySquawkington · 23/11/2020 14:28

I'm 35 by the way. Weighed 6st 12 when I fell pregnant with DC1 11 years ago, this is the lightest I've been since then.
