What was the last thing you cried at on telly?

Watching Vikings tonight and I had to make DH stop it because I was so upset. There was a birth delivery going wrong and I just couldn't bear it, but then once he stopped it I realised o needed to know so we watched it whilst i cried. They were fine. All praise the Christian God.

I felt like a bit of an idiot really, but the panic and upset was genuine and strong.

Lake me feel less like a weirdo. What was the last think you cried at on telly?

I'm a stone hearted gnome, I don't think I've ever cried at anything on TV!

Unsolved mysteries on Netflix, an episode about a tsunami and people seeing ghosts after.

I honestly cry at everything on telly, I don't know what's wrong with me, in real life I'm a fairly run of the mill science bod and don't cry at all. The last thing though was A Street Cat Named Bob.

I was watching a programme on the BBC news channel. Terrible how people have suffered there, such high rates and little financial help. The programme focused on a Muslim guy who was running a food bank, cooking food for the homeless and so on. When the numbers dropped they started doing other stuff and they went to a flat of a single pregnant woman with two little kids. The painted the flat, new beds for the kids, new mattress for the cot, toys for the kids, layette for the baby. I was sobbing.

What?? Not even movies? My bf is like that, she was stuck between me (cry hard at everything) and her sister at the movies once (the lovely bones I think) with is both crying and her just sat there dry eyes like "what are you both crying??" She is an emotional person, and it does upset her. Her upset just doesn't come out thatt way.

The worse was The Book Thief film when I knew what was going to happen (I'd SOBBED at the book on a bus journey where the driver actually asked if I was ok 🥺🥺) so I was crying hard before it actually happened. Same for Avatar, I cry even before they attack the tree

Robert Rinder's programme about his family and the Holocaust.

I don't really cry ever. Last time was when my friend died in March, prior to that was grans funeral 2 years ago.

I've only ever cried at 1 film - blood diamond.

I'm more emotional since having kids, prior to that I'd rarely cry from sadness.

I'll sometimes cry from anger or frustration though.

Tararararara · 22/11/2020 10:11

SleepingStandingUp I'm begining to wonder if I'm your friend- I had a similar experience watching the lovely bones at the cinema!

Handmaids tale. The episode where they get all the children on the plane in the latest season. I couldn’t even talk about it to dd aged 17 about it afterwards without crying again..!

I watched forest gump last night and cried my eyes out multiple times

MyNameForToday1980 · 22/11/2020 10:26

I was watching one of those TV compilation shows last night and they had a clip of the 10yo girl on BGT many years ago who froze on the first live show and forgot her lyrics.

Just the look of fear on her face.

Mind you, I cry at the drop of a hat.

Oh no, I haven't started it yet. When's it on here? I had a friend who watched American pace you used to message me the episodes where she'd thought I'd struggled (mainly April with her first baby) so I'd always watch them doing something else

I finally got round to watching the last series of Our Girl, and sobbed my heart out when Fingers died 😂

I’m not very emotional in real life, but some things on TV really get me.

Last night, watching the Delicate Sound of Thunder Pink Floyd concert on Sky Arts, when David Gilmour and Rick Wright were singing “Comfortably Numb” together.
I saw them exchange smiles after some numbers and remembered David saying how he felt he could no longer sing “Echoes” now that Rick is gone.
I've loved the Floyd since I was a teen, and the poignancy and nostalgia of it just overcame me.

IamTomHanks · 22/11/2020 10:37

When Ryan accidentally killed his Mom when he was blasting Stormfront off her in "The Boys". Poor kid.
