Tumbleweed101 · 21/11/2020 22:38

Author. I'm happy to put in the work writing the book so long as I can have sufficient money to survive on while doing so!

FraughtwithGin · 21/11/2020 23:22

World-famous opera singer or concert pianist, please.

RuleOfCat · 21/11/2020 23:42

Architect. I would have loved to create buildings. Of course in a ridiculously unrealistic 'big picture' kind of way - not the person who designs the HVAC vents and such details.
Although architecture does come into my real job to some small degree, so I'm not entirely unfulfilled.Smile

And having watched my way through Time Team during the first lockdown I reckon I could stride across a field in wellies saying things like 'These sherds of Samian ware in the north range are undoubtedly evidence of late Roman settlement, but now we're down to the natural'

peakygal · 21/11/2020 23:43

A coroner

VetOnCall · 21/11/2020 23:52

My job is my dream job (vet) but if I could swing a second dream job I'd be a National Geographic photographer, like Paul Nicklen.

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 21/11/2020 23:58

I would be happy to win the lottery & am assuming I have adequate childcare for all of this:

Sports journalist
Travel/Hotel/Restaurant critic
Politician (would love to see things from the inside)

PortalooSunset · 22/11/2020 00:22

Occupational therapist. I'm prepared to put the work in but if you could wave your wand to cover my course fees/child care/cost of living whilst I study that would be awesome please @Lardlizard Grin

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 22/11/2020 00:31

Oscar winning actress.

MustardMitt · 22/11/2020 00:39

I'm struggling between lady of leisure with a guaranteed huge income, and an actual profession.

I like the idea of being the owner of a kitschy little coffee shop, a voice actor for cartoons, a ballerina (assuming your magic wand also makes me have the body as if I continued ballet past my 17th birthday!).

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 22/11/2020 02:41

Voice over artist
Event planner (if there's a kind that doesn't have to deal with the general public!)

HerRoyalNotness · 22/11/2020 02:53

Wildlife photographer
Chef
Archeologist

LadyJaye · 22/11/2020 03:01

Choosing the names of the colours of Dulux paints.

LadyJaye · 22/11/2020 03:03

(I'm an IT Systems Director and more or less in my dream job, but I'd like to name colours.)

110APiccadilly · 22/11/2020 03:36

Hippopotas · 22/11/2020 04:30

Osteoarchaeologist or archivist

Lurchermom · 22/11/2020 04:34

Hotel / holiday tester. But not on the road constantly. Maybe one week on, one week off...

catwithflowers · 22/11/2020 04:47

Food critic or concert pianist

greteld · 22/11/2020 04:49

International aid worker
Or having my own creative business.

Misandrylovescompany · 22/11/2020 08:04

“ Choosing the names of the colours of Dulux paints.”

Oh this is a good one!

keiratwiceknightly · 22/11/2020 08:11

My job - secondary school English teacher - but with hugely increased budgets so we could have lovely buildings and smaller classes instead of the crumbling, asbestos-ridden buildings and classes of 32 in rooms built for 24.

DoctorTwo · 22/11/2020 08:49

Twitter caption writer for @RAF_Luton. Or maybe the photographer in their ubiquitous Canberra, though the latter role can be hairy at times.

MustardMitt · 22/11/2020 11:35

@LadyJaye you’ve reminded me - I’d quite like to be the person who names OPI nail polishes Grin. So long as (obvs) it’s JUST me, no committees or meetings about it.

Oblomov20 · 22/11/2020 12:13

Critic of roller coasters / dangerous rides - eg stealth at Thorpe Park, Insanity at Vegas.

Plus eating the bags of 10 mini hot doughnuts!

Lardlizard · 23/11/2020 12:01

@Oblomov20 have you seen theme park worldwide on you tube ? You might like it
