I need to buy a gift for a boy aged 16. Max £50. No other details. Any ideas?

Need more details. whether he is still at school and needs art supplies etc is relevant. Or a voucher for his fav shop to buy warm clothes.

Byemelania · 12/11/2020 20:27

Just give him the cash in a card. He can get what he wants

Doing this as part of a “give back” programme, so all I know is he’s not had the best life, is a boy and 16.

Needs to be a gift, not money.

Jd voucher

Byemelania · 12/11/2020 20:37

Wow mission impossible then. Voucher?

c24680 · 12/11/2020 20:40

Fire tablet?

AlwaysCheddar · 12/11/2020 20:43

Both good ideas as I could include a gift voucher. I could buy a jumper or something.

Hmm if vouchers are off the table do you know sizes? Nice hoodie, vould her reasonably decent trsiners in the sales atm for that aftershave, nice toiletries... tshirts, sweets... half decent headphones.

Whatatoodoodle · 12/11/2020 20:44

Stationery
Aftershave/ toiletries
Football
Headphones

It’s actually really hard to think of things if you don’t know what he likes/has already got.

fussygalore118 · 12/11/2020 20:45

God excuse my typing.....

netstaller · 12/11/2020 20:46

At 16 clothes/brands are everything so a JD voucher for 50 quid would probably be really special

Spied · 12/11/2020 20:50

Toiletries gift set ( Jack Will/Superdry)
Hamper of American Sweets
Beanie Hat and gloves
Rubix cube

TechnoDino · 12/11/2020 20:53

Headphones, portable speaker, branded pants (tk maxx), aftershave, superdry watch, rucksack, quality (warm) hoody.

dkdkfhfkdsl · 12/11/2020 20:55

American sweets? I thought she wanted to get something nice Grin

JohnnyJohnnyYesMama · 12/11/2020 20:58

Tracksuit

Audreyseyebrows · 12/11/2020 21:00

Ds is into anything Nike, billabong, vans or ellesse. Portable speaker, wireless headphones, fcuk toiletries, scooter or skateboard.

MrsChuckBass · 12/11/2020 21:00

I would get
Aftershave gift set
Sweets/chocolate
Socks
Hat/gloves
Wallet
Headphones

Tricerapops · 12/11/2020 21:01

I've done something similar this year and got 2 16/17 year old boys. I got them each a hoodie, socks, toiletry set, selection box and sweets.

Bikingbear · 12/11/2020 21:08

I think a portable speaker and aftershave set.

Really hard when you have no what they have or would like. Could the charity give you some sort of ideas that he might like?

Another thought would be aftershave, wallet and maybe an amazon voucher to buy music.

LilacPebbles · 12/11/2020 21:28

I agree with the JD voucher. He'll have set ideas on clothes he likes regardless of background and would enjoy being able to 'spend' the voucher

mrwalkensir · 12/11/2020 22:01

v outing here, but going by the age range I know, a very very soft fleecy brown blanket. Less than £20

freezedriedromance · 12/11/2020 22:09

Wireless headphones (I paid £12 for mine from Amazon).
Warm gloves and hat, maybe plain black so they blend in with his other clothes.
Aftershave or body spray gift set.
I'd probably go to sports direct and get some warm socks too. They do packs of around 8 pairs for about a fiver.
Some chocolate?

Thewinterofdiscontent · 12/11/2020 22:16

I’d not get my expectations to high with this. I have worked with disadvantaged teens from a variety of backgrounds. I’ve got them presents every Christmas and it’s rare that they seem to like them ( or can be vulnerable enough to see a gift for what it is.)
Many will have had a terrible experience of Christmas or at least a lot of anxiety around the pressure of “family” and present buying.
I’d go for vouchers, sweets and maybe something grown up like a proper wallet. And I’d agree a blanket is a good idea too.

NullcovoidNovember · 12/11/2020 23:45

Heated blanket? 49.95..very soft fleece type so nice without the heat..
