Lockdown boredom musings....

Without medical/cosmetic interference what would you now look like?
I'm nearly 40.

I had dental treatment for 4 missing teeth so would have huge gaps in my front teeth.
I've terrible eyesight so without contacts/glasses I'd walk around with a permanent squint and I'd imagine terrible crows feet.
My hair is an uninspiring brown, wouldn't look too different but wouldn't have my highlights.
Body hair..... good god youd be able to plait it. Same with eyebrows. and mostache
I've had a bit of botox so more wrinkly.
I have a skin condition which causes abscesses so without surgical treatment I'd have huge boils/abscesses all down my thighs.
Oh - had a tooth abscess as well so possibly might have lost my teeth by now.
Wouldn't have ears pierced.

So toothless, boily, hairy and squinty! Lush!

Pretty much the same. Longer body hair.
Natural hair colour
Nothing done to teeth
No cosmetic work
Rarely wear make-up

I'm low maintainence!

BogRollBOGOF · 09/11/2020 18:29

Actually, I'd have a broken tooth at the back. It's not very obvious!

Ah but if you take away tooth paste and soap and shampoo....

I have fillings so would be toothless, hairier but don't wear make up or dye my hair.
However without medical intervention DS would have died in utero possibly with me so I wouldn't be here

jellybeanz1212 · 09/11/2020 18:31

Id be dead due to.no insulin 🤣

ohidoliketobe · 09/11/2020 18:34

To be frank, without medical intervention I'd be dead after two post partum haemorrhages!
But that aside, my nose would be wonkier - had a deviated septum corrected a few years ago. My hair would be a dull mousey brown I'd be a bit hairier everywhere else!

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/11/2020 18:34

Wrinkly without sunblock every day.

Coldemort · 09/11/2020 18:35

Yes, I imagine we'd all stink

Nosleeptilteenagers · 09/11/2020 18:36

Awful teeth, overlapping big time before orthodontic treatment plus my filled teeth would probably have fallen out by now, and my god that would hurt!

Eyebrows would probably be nicer as I’m someone who plucked them all off in the 90s and they never really grew back. Hair would be grey not dyed and matted I’d imagine!

I would have died from a ruptured ovarian cyst at 23.

Coldemort · 09/11/2020 18:37

Just thought of another. Without contraception I may well have had 10+ kids which would have had a huge affect on my body.
On the other side without being on contraception my boobs would be smaller and I'd have worse acne

Hahaha!!! Love this thread.
I'd be very short sighted, deranged from not being able to locate any gin anywhere (well it's not that bad, but still...) and my curly hair would be wild and tangled and full of, erm the silver sprinkles that my lovely hairdresser diplomatically calls them.
I'd probably be enviously slim though as I'm not very fast and hate hurting animals so what with my short sight, my ungainly trot and my reluctance to swing the club there would be lots of laughing rabbits all around me.

RishiMcRichface · 09/11/2020 18:39

Bad teeth but possibly thinner, although I would probably have died in childbirth or of a nasty infection.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 09/11/2020 18:40

I'd have wonkier teeth with an overbite, mousy boring hair, more body hair and wouldn't have ears pierced.

Oh and I'd probably have died in childbirth if I hadn't been able to have caesareans.

WitchesSpelleas · 09/11/2020 18:40

Wouldn't have ears pierced.

People have been piercing themselves since pre-historic times!

My hair is an uninspiring brown, wouldn't look too different but wouldn't have my highlights.

You could henna it - again, something that people have done since ancient times.

Body hair..... good god youd be able to plait it. Same with eyebrows. and mostache

Again, people have been shaving themselves for centuries!

I've terrible eyesight so without contacts/glasses I'd walk around with a permanent squint and I'd imagine terrible crows feet.

Glasses have been around since the 13th century so you could certainly have had them 200 years ago, although probably nowhere near as accurate in their correction of your sight.

KatnissNeverdone · 09/11/2020 18:41

I'd have chipped front teeth, squinty eyes as my eyesight is terrible, a beard and a severe limp due to a dodgy hip which has been replaced.

😂😂😂😂 I'd be the same! I'm the kid that was always last in PE. Nature me would be very slim!

Hmm - teeth might be better without all the sugar

No hormonal contraceptives which might have a difference ( and a few more babies)

Much more exercise and manual labour so we should all be fitter

Much less pollution etc (unless you worked down the mines)

I'm blind as a bat without contacts so would have probably died under the wheels of a cart

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 09/11/2020 18:45

I had those vampire fang type canines that got straightened out by braces.
I also have wild hair but might have learnt some nice braiding I suppose.
However the facial hair dear god. Full on monobrow and tache I fear! Mind you that's only really got bad from 35 and older and I'd probably be dead by then anyway.

Sarahandduck18 · 09/11/2020 18:46

No difference mostly!

Early 40s, only the odd grey so dont need to dye hair.
Very little natural body hair. They’d still have razors so could still deal with mid brow hairs/lip line and arm pits.
I’ve not had dental treatment since a child so teeth the same. Fine.

Doubt most of that would have been available/ practised by working classes though? (As I am!)

If i made adulthood id have terrible crooked teeth but healthy as i grew up somewhere with natural flouride levels quite high
Short sighted
Very hairy
I reckon even 200 years ago id have found something to remove facial hair though.

VenusClapTrap · 09/11/2020 18:50

I would have died fairly sharpish as a newborn, because I was premature.

laudemio · 09/11/2020 18:51

The same as I look in lockdown! Probably be dead though after a difficult birth.

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 09/11/2020 18:51

200 years ago was 1820, was that pre industrial revolution then? My history is bad.

1400spincycle · 09/11/2020 18:52

I would have been dead several times over. 2 Emcs and several serious infections... apart from that I’d probably have an awful limp from a leg injury which needed surgery and might even have died again at 18 with infected impacted wisdom teeth!
Oh and I’d most likely be deaf from repeated untreated ear infections.

Apart from that pretty much the same - but probably much, much thinner!
