Looking to see if anyone has any advice. Yesterday was a busy day building livingroom furniture etc, woke up at 3:30am this morning with terrible pains in the areas circled in the attached pictures. I am in absolute agony, I thought maybe trapped wind as I seem to be rifting a lot, have take rennies, hot water bottle, hot bath, cup of warm water and lemon slices, buscopan, ibuprofen. Nothing is helping I still have this pain!! Does anyone have any ideas? I couldn't sleep last night due to it and can't get comfy tonight with it. Thank you

Also took an omepeazole. Back pain is in stomach and middle of back, I have attached 2 pictures but only 1 seems to be showing

Does it fit costochondritis?

sparklefarts · 07/11/2020 21:35

Pancreatitis?

Ibuprofen irritates the stomach so don't take any more

I had pain there when I had gallstones and pancreatic caused by gallstones
Go to your GP

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/11/2020 21:37

Please ring 111.

bestbefore · 07/11/2020 21:38

Gallstone. What did you eat?

StormsDontLastForever · 07/11/2020 21:43

@BloomedAgain & @sparklefarts I'm not sure, I will Google just now and see if any symptoms are the same, thank you both.

@BoreOfWhabylon I don't want to ring 111 incase it's just trapped wind, also have a Dd at home and no1 to look after her tonight if they asked me to attend out of hours.

@bestbefore I have never had gallstones before, will have a Google. I had a Chinese takeaway last night, then around 5-6 hours later the pain started.

Sounds very much like gallstones

RishiMcRichface · 07/11/2020 21:47

My dd had a bad stomach ache about a year ago which also gave her back pain, we saw a doctor but they couldn't find anything wrong and said it was a stomach bug. It went off after a couple of days. They suggested buscopan for the stomach cramps and painkillers which helped a bit.

NoPinkPlease · 07/11/2020 21:47

It could be gastritis / inflammation of the stomach lining. I had that last year - back pain and stomach pain just where you said. Had to take gaviscon, omeprazole and cocodomal. But had lots of stuff checked at dr too. Good luck

MrsBrunch · 07/11/2020 21:49

It's either gallstones or labour.

TidyOmlette · 07/11/2020 21:50

Gallstones. It’s worse than labour. You need really good pain relief and a hot water bottle. Any vomiting or high temp then I would advise to contact 111

Fleetwoodmacs · 07/11/2020 21:51

It does sound quite like gallstones or gastritis. If you have paracetamol maybe take that rather than ibuprofen, as it can irritate your stomach.

ThorsMistress · 07/11/2020 21:51

I had gallstones and the pain was in the exact places you have circled. It felt like trapped wind but was agony. I also had pancreatitis and honestly it was the worst pain. Call your GP

happybaby39 · 07/11/2020 21:54

It sounds like gallstones, I had an episode 7 years ago that sounds similar, Paramedic came out and gave me codine (they thought I was having a heart attack as I was clutching the mantelpiece in agony) which eased the pain but knocked me out. A scan a month later showed gallstones.I don’t think trapped wind would last that long, especially after all the things you have tried. You should get it checked out though, try the NHS online symptom checker first and they will tell you to ring 111 if necessary.

DialSquare · 07/11/2020 22:00

I would say gallstones too. The only thing that worked for me when I had an attack was to drink as much water as I could drink as quickly as I could drink it. Roughly a pint. I read it on a forum at the time and was very pleased that it also worked for me. Just seemed to wash the pain away.

jessycake · 07/11/2020 22:03

You should ring 111 , you may need stronger pain relief , and ruling out more serious causes . Severe pain that lasts that long should be assessed.

lolawasashowgirl · 07/11/2020 22:03

Well when I had that kind of pain I was suffering from pancreatitis caused by gallstones. I ended up going to A and E where it was taken very seriously. I was told quite clearly by the consultant that pancreatitis can be life threatening. However it might not be that and you won't find out unless you seek medical advice. I mean this in the kindest possible way but why aren't you calling 111 or going to A and E rather than trying to diagnose yourself via Google or a bunch of strangers on the internet? You're potentially putting your life at risk. If you have to go to hospital then so be it - you'll have to take your daughter with you and the staff will help you look after her.

jenn88 · 07/11/2020 22:05

I would agree with gall stones! I had pain so bad I thought I was having a heart attack!! A few days of stomach pain, vomiting and white poos!!!! I couldn't take anymore went to a and e, and was admitted to hospital for a week!! I was jaundice, my liver had stopped working!!! All because the gall stones had moved and became trapped above my pancreas and in my bile duct!!
I had two procedures to remove the blockages and I'm awaiting an op to have my gall bladder removed!!

MrsBrunch · 07/11/2020 22:10

GP told me gallstones symptoms are very similar to heart attack.

PoptartPoptart · 07/11/2020 22:10

Going against the grain here but the first thing that struck me from reading your post was that you had a busy day yesterday building living room furniture.
Were you lifting heavy pieces of wood or bending over at an awkward angle for any length of time? Could you have pulled or strained yourself perhaps?
Just a thought op. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

jenn88 · 07/11/2020 22:16

Also to add, pain from gall stones is known to radiate from front to back! Also feels like a heart attack/severe heart burn

Cocolapew · 07/11/2020 22:21

I had that last week and it ended up being shingles.
I would guess at costochondritis because of the furniture moving.

polkadotpixie · 07/11/2020 22:28

I'd put money on gallstones
