Do you have a tv room separate to your lounge?

I find my self going to the bedroom to watch tv if the other 4 watch football.

Or do you all watch the same programme?

We have three and it two off us here. no idea how we ended up with number. We generally watch together. If there's some l don't like l will just read my book or play on my phone.

FraughtwithGin · 06/11/2020 19:28

What's a lounge?
I thought only hotels had lounges.

PineappleUpsideDownCake · 06/11/2020 19:30

Seriously Gin?!?!? Never in your life heard or read about living room being referred to as a lounge? What a sheltered life you've led.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 06/11/2020 19:31

I’m fortunate enough to have 2 separate living rooms, the main one we use is off the kitchen, the front living room may as well be called the parlour for the amount of times it gets used, we do tend to watch the same stuff but if either of us is watching something that the other isn’t interested in we use that time to be on our iPads. We have never sat separately, one in each room probably because nowadays you don’t have to watch tv live you can watch it to suit your own timetable, if we were back in ‘the olden days’ we probably would sit in separate rooms if Corrie and Top Gear were on at the same time!

Chasingsquirrels · 06/11/2020 19:32

Yes-ish.
The was-a-playroom-but-the-dc-are-teens has a tv, but it is mainly used by the dc to play on the Wii.
Tv in the kitchen that I'll have on when I'm cooking & tv in my bedroom that rarely gets turned on.
But I don't live with a partner so I watch what I want on the main tv.

Holothane · 06/11/2020 19:33

Oh god yes I couldn’t cope with only one, I’ve the biggest in the bedroom a 65 inch I love it especially Star Wars and stuff, surgery is fantastic on it, it like being in theatre.

satnighttakeaway · 06/11/2020 19:33

A special room just for watching television? No, I don't have one but I am quite envious of a friend who has living room room without a TV

Yes, only one TV in the tiny snug. None in the sitting room.

But we all watch stuff on tablets, computers and phones. The TV screen is for when we’re watching films together or gaming.

Bwlch · 06/11/2020 19:37

We only have one telly. It doesn't get watched that much, so it isn't a problem. My husband having no interest in sport helps.

Morsmordre · 06/11/2020 19:37

Yep - recently renovated our house and was going to go for an open plan ground floor. Decided to keep a separate living room/lounge in the end and was the best decision we ever made.
Great place to now hide from the kids and watch my own TV with 🍷 whilst the football is on elsewhere.

We have a family room and a sitting room. Both have a TV so we can watch things separately. There are also TVs in our DDs rooms but they don't live at home now. So we have 4 TVs for 2 of us!

HelloDulling · 06/11/2020 19:42

Sitting room, and room that we call the playroom, although the kids are teens. 2 TVs, though I often end up reading my book in one while someone watches TV.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 06/11/2020 19:47

No.

midsomermurderess · 06/11/2020 19:49

Gin making an embarrassing attempt at sounding 'refined'. I have one sitting room. That's where the telly is.

Simplyunacceptable · 06/11/2020 19:50

We have one TV in the living room and everyone has to watch whatever is on. If they really hate it they’re welcome to leave the room and read a book, draw a picture or entertain themselves some other way.

I grew up in a house with a TV in almost every room (bathroom was the only exception). We often all sat watching different things in separate rooms, so disjointed and weird. My Mum still has a TV in every room and there’s only her and her partner there now!

OhDear2200 · 06/11/2020 19:56

2 TVs one in front room and one in ‘snug’. We use both loads, sometimes all watch together but mostly split between them. Didn’t expect to work it as well as it does and now wouldn’t go back.

MagnoliatheMagnificent · 06/11/2020 19:57

We only have one tv but dh usually watches boring stuff like politics and war films on it so dd and I usually sit in the dining room and watch stuff together on the laptop. iPad wanders round the house being watched too!

helloxhristmas · 06/11/2020 19:59

One in the living room, one in the kitchen, one in our bedroom and one in the playroom. Playroom mostly used for gaming.

NancysDream · 06/11/2020 20:04

Just got the one in the living room. Used to have two but when the one for the bedroom broke I didn't bother replace it. The kids have day time viewing. I have once there In bed, though usually go to sleep around the same time and take my phone to bed!

Plussizejumpsuit · 06/11/2020 20:04

No but there's just the two of us. We have one living room. We don't have a TV in the bedroom either.

Littlebeach · 06/11/2020 20:08

A tv in front sitting room that ds uses for his x box, back sitting room a tv that rarely gets used then main tv in the family room/kitchen. No TVs upstairs and we tend not to watch things on laptops or phones.

Sheknowsaboutme · 06/11/2020 20:27

I wish i had a separate room instead of the bedroom. Im already in bed, with nothing much on the box, red wine in hand and a book.

But im glad of the relaxing as its nuts at work.
