Colourblind glasses - any experience?

It's my DH's 50 birthday soon and I thought I could get him one of those glasses as a present.
At first I thought it was a great idea, to be able to finally see colours, but now I am wondering if it might have the opposite effect, ie make him realised how much he missed?!

Does any one have any experience?
(I am aware there will not be many, if any, colourblind women in the forum, but still...)

@PolkadotsAndMoonbeams - he tried those tests and the result is the same.

Customer services said the glases work in 80% of cases.

I read somewhere on line that the videos of people putting them on and immediately seeing a difference are often staged. I read that you have to wear them for about half and hour for the brain to adjust to them and compensate and for it to start making a difference to what you're seeing. (That said, I also heard that they don't work for everyone). It might be worth keeping them on for half an hour just to see.
