What's your life too frickin' short for?

I was in the supermarket earlier, realising that I need to clean a load of windows at home which I've been putting off. I've been dithering over buying a bucket and getting some of those microfibre cloths to do the windows with, because everyone says they're fab and it would save the planet.

And then I thought to myself - life's too frickin' short. So I bought a load of spray window cleaner and some paper towels, and actually cleaned the windows, instead of the constant fussing about "Oh I should use warm soapy water and save the dolphins", or whatever.

What's your life too frickin' short for atm?

Love this thread agree with everything!

Just wanted to add leaving reviews. .Amazon, argos etc, glad some people do but personally I can't be arsed!

hollyandkit · 23/10/2020 11:59

Voting on what 'fun' Xmas activities my dept can participate in via Team Meetings this year. Just shoot me now.

Twitter, Instagram etc etc

Trying not to care what anyone thinks of me Grin I care, not very much but a bit, and I’ve decided that’s ok.

Searching for a pair of glasses that suit me. Literally none do so it’s contacts from here on in.

Really violent films/tv.

Ironing
Sorting washing into colours and fabric types
Putting makeup on and doing anything more than just combing my hair

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/10/2020 12:25

Soo many people not doing much ironing. Woo hoo, I have found my tribe, lol. Oh, and yes, doing a job you hate - life is defo too short for that. Just left mine for a whole host of reasons as it was making me ill - interview on Monday for new one, so cross everything for me please MN

LaBellina · 23/10/2020 12:26

Ironing
Engaging with messed up family members
Dreaming about my ex

ImEatingVeryHealthilyOhYes · 23/10/2020 12:27

Best of luck Purplecatshopaholic you’re doing a brave thing!

TurquoiseDragon · 23/10/2020 12:46

Another vote for ironing. I hang stuff up or fold neatly, and iron something if needed when I get it out to wear.

I have never ironed bedsheets, towels or underwear.

mistermagpie · 23/10/2020 12:49

Ironing here too, and washing the car. I got my car in 2017 and it's never been washed! It looks fine, although I'm not really sure I would give a shit if it didn't, but I rarely drive anywhere muddy so...

thenightsky · 23/10/2020 12:51

Doing Xmas cards and all the faff and time it takes. I gave up about 15 years ago and I don't think anyone has noticed yet.

tectonicplates · 23/10/2020 12:55

Apparently some of the very posh hotels iron newspapers!

longtompot · 23/10/2020 13:02

My people!! Fecking ironing. I hates it I does. I will do it if I have to but otherwise, it sits in the ironing bag, taunting me.

skankingpiglet · 23/10/2020 13:02

Ironing here too. Weddings, funerals, and job interviews are the only exceptions. DH irons weekly for work though so he does any uniform bits for DCs at the same time as his shirts. He ironed everything down to his pants when I first met him, but after 14 years of ridicule he has seen the light and pared it right back Grin

Chopping onions and making mashed potato. I buy frozen.

Christmas and Easter cards.

Make up.

lifestooshort123 · 23/10/2020 13:13

I guess my user name is a giveaway - life's too short for anything that doesn't make someone feel good.

StickTheKettleOnAlice · 23/10/2020 13:22

Cant be arsed buying adult Christmas presents as have enough on with the dc to buy for, just can't do it, Have scaled right back and just buy for gps.

bigpurplefuryknickers · 23/10/2020 13:30

Ironing.
Facebook.
Other people's bullshit.
Matching socks.
Getting out of the shower to pee

✌🏻

MrsMoastyToasty · 23/10/2020 13:33

Washing dishes. That's why I planned my new kitchen around my desire to get a dishwasher.
Christmas cards. Who can be bothered sending cards to the school/uni/former colleague that you haven't seen in 15 years.

vizlsapup · 23/10/2020 13:37

Waxing. I have dark thick hair and sensitive skin. Worst combination. Society can fuck off with its expectations of bikini waxing.

vizlsapup · 23/10/2020 13:38

Nooo, you must get out the shower to pee, or it affects the enamel! Life is too short for replacing bathrooms Grin

Blackcountryexile · 23/10/2020 13:45

Listening to stories of how many people weren't wearing masks and who was breaking "the rules".

Kaiserin · 23/10/2020 13:49

IRONING

55larry · 23/10/2020 14:00

I do very little ironing now as Dh irons his own clothes (if they need it not many do) and dd is the same. On the hand Sil irons most things and Dgs aged 3 has asked for an ironing board for Christmas just like daddy’s.

I also use chopped frozen onions, mashed potatoes, parsnips and frozen roast potatoes as I am fed up with cooking generally having been doing it for 48 years.

FurryTurnipHead · 23/10/2020 14:05

Drying or straightening my hair. It's tedious. Though it would look much better if I did it....

thriftyhen · 23/10/2020 14:05

Television. As a no TV household, I have never understood how people can waste whole evenings of their lives sitting in front of it.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 23/10/2020 14:06

Housework above the basics.
