What's on your bucket list for when normal life resumes?

My city is going into Tier 2 tomorrow, which is a bit grim, as I live alone, so I've been thinking about some things I'd like to do in the future when we can finally get back to normal, whenever that is.

I've travelled quite a bit, when I was 46 I got made redundant and went to India for 4 months which was amazing. I've always wanted to go to both Cuba and Vietnam for a long trip, so those are 2 things that are definitely on my bucket list!

Would love to know what yours are, and I also think it can be helpful to think about the future beyond this current shitshow, as it won't be forever!

And I'm aware that some pp are really struggling right now, so I hope this is not an insensitive post, just want to inject some hope and positivity. Smile

I want to go to Iceland and France and Copenhagen and do all the eating and sightseeing

I also want to go to the farncombe estate and be pampered

I want to go to Cornwall and anywhere on holiday in the U.K. really but when it’s not over crowded

Go to France to visit my seriously ill friend, put my arms round her, hug her and say goodbye.

Go back to Orkney for some mental rehabilitation.

Yoga and swimming classes.

  1. A proper holiday to somewhere warm.

2. Trip to Canada to see my family.

Canada is number 2 because I need a holiday to work up to the onslaught of mega-family (all of whom I love and miss desperately but I'm not used to masses of people. Its just me, DH and DC here.)

I was lucky enough to get tickets for the Les mis concert in December and I cried when I got them as I realised how much I had missed theatre trips.

I will go abroad next summer regardless, my reaction to those tickets showed me I need to carry on normal life as much as possible. Just not sure where with all the prebooking for museums making travel a faff.

I want to go to Greece, and take my kids to Ibiza. I want to go away with my amazing friends, I want to get drunk in busy bars dancing too close. I want to celebrate all the big birthdays we missed in lock down. I want to see my grandparents who are in their 90s. I want to go to London and see the sights then mooch around Camden Market. I want to go to a festival and loose myself in music. I want to feel free to explore.

@ShortFatandDumpy I am so sorry that you have had such a horrible time (and why the username? I am all of those things but don't tend to call myself something so mean!). I can't wait for you to have the midlife crisis adventures you deserve.

I want to be able to take my baby to meet all the people I love and to have my mum and dad give her cuddles.
Desperately miss playing with my orchestra: I heard tuning up in a film last night and felt a physical ache!
Going to church and singing together.
It's been a very long time!
