I'm going to the pub later with my eldest to watch our football team . I really miss going with him to actual matches as it was one of our few catchups (he's 23 ) so am glad he'll still chew the fat with his old mother Grin
DH is going to cook a roast and I'm hoping to head to the gym for the first time since March

Hopefully going for a walk later with a friend.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 18/10/2020 11:35

Chicken in the slow cooker, veg prepped for a roast. Load of washing in and dishwasher on the go
Think that's more than enough work for one day Grin

We are going out for a family dog walk later (very rare 13 year old joins us butbhe is today) to work out a route for a charity run.

iklboo · 18/10/2020 11:49

DS(14) is making lasagne for tea - perks of him doing food tech as an option, he loves cooking.

DH going to the gym for a bit.

I'm just having a relaxing day.

Onyourway · 18/10/2020 11:49

Had a lovely walk out with a friend and dog. No real plans today, but peaceful sorting and planning for the week. Might try to empty out the greenhouse.

islockdownoveryet · 18/10/2020 12:13

I'm loving reading what everyones up too.
I had a nice day yesterday nothing exciting but got some nice treats and wine watched strictly love it already .
I made contact with my brother he's not spoken to me for over a year long story to with my dad but that's made me happy that we've messaged as it's a start .
Today I've been for a nice long run well long for me .
I'm making a brunch of bacon , hash browns and eggs so undo all my good work of the run Grin.
Later washing/ ironing and I'm going to make roast chicken tonight and prep for the week ahead .
What will be will be this week I'm trying not to worry too much about the move into tier 3 .

I've just put a chocolate cake in the oven and will be doing roast gammon later. Cup of tea in the garden first.

yellowmaoampinball · 18/10/2020 12:24

I'm in Wales and wondering if I've missed some announcement about gyms closing?! I've had my usual Sunday run with my dh, which I really enjoy. We're off pumpkin picking later and then the kids want to watch a Halloween film. There'll also be the usual nagging about homework and ironing uniforms...

ApolloandDaphne · 18/10/2020 12:29

I drank tea in bed while my DH went for a run then we walked the dog together over a very autumnal looking golf course followed by coffee and a cookie. I have been to the supermarket and plan to make a roast with all the trimmings later. Bacon rolls for lunch soon. I have nothing else planned.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 18/10/2020 12:32

I'm anticipating the gums will close from next Friday sadly

I am relaxing today as I work nights. In today after having friday and saturday night off. Have called work who say our temps arent in tonight (we need 5!) but am choosing not to stress about it.

All dc on consoles. Dh is cooking a roast later before I head off and I might even have a nap! Should probably clean the kitchen tho...

Ah right, I had seen that but I'm clinging on to hope until its formally announced.

Took dog to Hyde Park this am chasing squirrels ( dog not me ! ) then went to Pilates and Spirit ( mixture of yoga and Pilates ) - classes only 45 mins rather than 60 due to Covid cleaning requirements .
Came home to find DP has peeled and chopped potatoes for Sunday’s roast ( bought a reduced chicken in Waitrose yesterday so feeling pleased with myself ) .
Meeting a mate later with their dog and mine for a catch-up then can sit on my a**e later while DP does the roast . O and have read the papers .
These what are you up to today threads are a welcome break from all the Covid negativity / speculation etc . Still whatever floats your boat I guess .

Hobnobswantshernameback · 18/10/2020 16:30

Made it to the gym and it felt great (well painful great) home now to
Sort the roast Andreas the papers
Feeling calmer than I have for ages

Woke late after a disturbed night. Took some recycling out, picked some sweet peas and then over an hour later looked out on a winter tidied garden (well at least a good start), not planned so feel good about that. Lazy rest of day, dh cooking steak tonight.

Strugglingtodomybest · 18/10/2020 17:20

I've just got back from my dog walk and coffee with a friend and we've arranged to go for lunch somewhere tomorrow too, so that's something to look forward to!
I didn't get much decluttering done because I remembered that had half made meatballs yesterday and then stuck the mixture in the fridge, so I shaped it all into meatballs while listening to a podcast and then ended up cleaning the kitchen floor.

Had a lovely lie in until 11.30am whilst dh spent time with the DC. He is an early bird and hasn't seen them much this week due to work, was lovely hearing them playing whilst I snoozed.

We went for a bike ride to the park then went to the allotment, did some weeding, tidying and planted bulbs.

Home for a hot shower one after the other then chilling in the lounge. Spoke to dnephew who's got covid as well as his flatmates at university. He's doing fine, just really tired.

Having g sausages and red pepper hotpot for tea then crosswords in front of the fire.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/10/2020 18:39

Had a lovely day. Walked five miles, just had a bubble bath and takeaway is on the way.

HappeBee · 18/10/2020 20:29

Thank you OP for starting the Sunday thread!

Baked frozen pastry for breakfast after a lie in (period cramps etc)
Had a nice walk in woods with kids (they were whingey but, whatever!) after a lovely fish stew lunch.

Pumpkin soup didn't go down well (from pumpkins picked yesterday) but we did some Halloween decorations with kids.

Dh made dinner for once and some nagging to get kids showered and to bed.

Have a big week of work stress ahead so deep breaths!

PanamaPattie · 18/10/2020 21:21

Changed my plans and I made some crusty bread rolls, as DH popped out to a local shop and brought back a jar of chocolate orange peanut butter. I know.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 18/10/2020 21:26

Thanks all
This has honestly helped so much in keeping me pottering doing nice stuff, avoiding reading stuff that makes me anxious and generally helping me feel nice and calm
