What's the from when someone had a breast enlargement?

Someone I know through a sports club, has been away for several weeks recovering from surgery.

She's back now and it's very obvious what the surgery was, although afaik she hasn't actually told anyone.

Are we supposed not to notice? But presumably she's had it done because she wanted a noticable difference. Is a complimentary comment appropriate, like you would for a new haircut?

Say something or not?

Tread carefully, this happened in our office about ten years ago, the colleague went on annual leave for three weeks and came back noticeably different. I didn't say anything because I wasn't that close and I genuinely thought it the polite thing to do, just carry on. No one said anything. After a month or so the enhanced colleague was really upset with the 'bitches' in the office (that's me and my other colleagues) for not commenting ??? Sorry, I'm not much help, still don't know what we were meant to do?

TheSpottedZebra · 17/10/2020 10:03

Would you normally comment on her breasts? If not, just carry as before.

Someone i know had a grand "unveiling" by wearing a very tight tank top at a kid's party. Half the room knew, half the room knew something was up but not what. Such an odd atmosphere. It was one of the strangest kids parties i have ever been to Grin

It's absolutely none of your business. What an odd thing to ask. Are you usually so socially inept?

BinkyandBunty · 17/10/2020 11:20

@SurreyHillsGirl summed it up really. Of course you don't say anything.

I think you’re the socially inept one! Jesus what a comment Confused People are allowed to ask questions they don’t know the answer to.

What should op do? Ask “so do you want me to notice your massive norks or not?”
TheQueef · 17/10/2020 11:22

You carefully enquire if they have a new Dyson.

Pelleas · 17/10/2020 11:26

"Hello! Nice to have you back. You look great!"

Be non-specific but complimentary.

Could’ve been worse.

It could have been a dad after a penis enlargement.

No one wants to see skin tight cycling shorts inbetween jelly and pass the parcel.

What, like "I love your new breasts, they really suit you" ? Hmm

SlopesOff · 17/10/2020 11:40

You could do what my friend did.

She walked into the room, came straight over and put one in each hand and said 'Ooooh these are nice'.

W3dontdoduvets · 17/10/2020 12:29

@TeddyIsaHe Don’t be so ridiculous.

Redcrayons · 17/10/2020 12:32

I think it’s like pregnancy. You don’t comment until they’ve told you.

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 17/10/2020 12:33

I had similar but a friend who had a nose and possible chin job. I've just not mentioned it. No idea what to say Confused

dudsville · 17/10/2020 12:38

The whole situation is odd. Even if she tells you, would you really content on her breasts? What a strange thing.

TeddyIsaHe · 17/10/2020 12:38

I think I’ll carry on actually, thanks and all that. Life is much more fun when you have a sense of humour and joy every single thing on the planet offends you Grin

Mumdiva99 · 17/10/2020 12:42

Our fitness instructor just had it done and announced it to us all. (Sorry explained that she couldn't lift much because of recent surgery.) It was easy to comment.

I would just say "how are you feeling now" then she can mention it if she wants or not.

PegasusReturns · 17/10/2020 12:46

Definitely go for a non specific “you look great”.

Scruffymac · 17/10/2020 12:47

Definitely comment but don't be creepy. It's so good to have you back at work Jenny, you look fantastic!

nosswith · 17/10/2020 12:52

No way should you comment. How rude. I feel saddened that any woman feels the need or wants to have this done, unless they have had illness or disease.

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 17/10/2020 13:04

Jeez, only one socially inept person here and that's you.

BabyLlamaZen · 17/10/2020 13:06

If she hasn't told you then no, definitely not!

CuppaZa · 17/10/2020 13:07

‘Lovely to have you back, you look great‘ will suffice.
