What do you think the chances are that I’ll be going to America for Christmas?

We have had flights booked to fly to New York on Boxing Day since January with DP, ds and my parents to visit family. With everything as it is I haven’t even considered that we would be going, I have just been waiting for the flights to be cancelled. I called the airline a few days ago as we have agreed on a date to (very hopefully but we thought unlikely) to next year however they advised we aren’t able to change the flights but that it was unlikely we would be going of course.

However, i have just been reading that they may be opening up air corridors to the US in time for thanksgiving? I haven’t even considered that there would be a chance that we’d be able to go. If we can go (as in it’s not going against advice, insurance would be valid, we won’t need to isolate) then I would go as would my dp.

I think it’s highly unlikely. We have flights booked for Christmas too but are making plans to stay at home. One thing is for sure, nothing at all will change until the result of the election is finalised. Trump prides himself on closing the borders and there’s no way he’ll even discuss opening up until after November 3rd.

I actually dreamt the other night that Trump opened the borders and my family could come and visit. They all got Covid tests straight away so no one had to quarantine, and we had a lovely time.

Sigh.
