Do you have a Tesco club card

Signed up today for one as loads of offers in store but you had to have a Clubcard but don't quite know what it's for. Had a look on the app and still no wiser. Is it like the boots advantage card?

Basically yes.

StitchInTimeSavesNine · 04/10/2020 18:48

I've just signed up,for one too because of the offers actually in the store. Of which there were loads.

Then it also works like a boots card as well, where you get money off eventually for points. Or you can convert them into vouchers for other places too.

Cocolapew · 04/10/2020 18:49

You'll get sent vouchers worth money a few times a year.

Basically, if you have a clubcard you get certain items cheaper than those that don’t.

Sheknowsaboutme · 04/10/2020 18:50

The new clubcard offers include alcohol this week -according to a staff member at the till today.

Bluewavescrashing · 04/10/2020 18:52

Save up your points and you can triple their worth with Club card Boost. We've had 3 separate hotel trips this year with CC.

SleepingStandingUp · 04/10/2020 18:52

You gets points for your shopping which you can convert to money off cheers or use in places like Pizza Express, magazine subscriptions etc when you get enough

Then there's now clubcard prices so last week Almond Milk was £1.80 but only £1 with a clubcard

Wiv0 · 04/10/2020 18:58

Use your clubcard everytime you spend and every three months you will receive vouchers in the post. They have a really long expiration date so you can save them up. I save them every year and have about 70-90euro to spend at christmas (I spend it on booze and goodies!)

Erictheavocado · 04/10/2020 19:09

Clubcard prices are really good. The huge pack of Philadelphia cheese was actually cheaper than the regular size this week.
As far as points go, there are loads of things you can use them on - i'm gradually building up a set of pans from Denby. I make sure to buy when they have a sale and so far have accumulated over £400 of products for a total outlay of around £20 on postage.

Letsgetbizzy · 04/10/2020 19:13

I've used saved points for loads of things. I saved points for 2 years and nearly tiled my bathroom ! Meals out, daytrips, oh and paid for a holiday at Butlins! I just had to pay a £1! Brilliant especially now there's money off products in store!

Floralnomad · 04/10/2020 19:14

I think Tesco club card is one of the better loyalty cards although it is not as good as it used to be .We used to use our points for Merlin cards when our dc were younger .

CodenameVillanelle · 04/10/2020 19:15

I thought the cheaper prices were for people who paid for the Clubcard extra or something? Are they for anyone who has a Clubcard??

NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs · 04/10/2020 19:21

We save ours and use it on entry fees for places, fairground wristbands and water parks that we visit when we're on holiday. Saves us a fortune! Around £300 of vouchers.
Haven't been on holiday this year so will have double the amount next year. Might use them for a few hotel stays too.
We get extra points for having 3 mobile phone contracts with Tesco too.

Floralnomad · 04/10/2020 19:22

@CodenameVillanelle they are for everybody .

Tulipvase · 04/10/2020 19:24

Just with the normal Club card - then extra discount if you have the club card plus.
StartingGrid · 04/10/2020 19:24

Having a clubcard meant I saved £7 on a £30 shop yesterday due to the clubcard member prices.... admittedly I'd only gone for bananas so did get a bit carried away!

CodenameVillanelle · 04/10/2020 19:26

Oh cool! Thanks

ReggieCat · 04/10/2020 19:38

I use my vouchers on Denby tableware and kitchen stuff. The vouchers are worth 3 times their face value on the website.

I've got a cupboard full of matching crockery and lots of roasting and cake tins. About £400 worth and all I've paid is £4.95 delivery charge on each of 3 orders.

flatpack1 · 04/10/2020 19:40

I dont understand it. I see the price tickets that give the clubcard price but when I scanned an item it came up as full price. How does it work I was too embarrassed to ask in store.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 04/10/2020 19:43

I’ve always used my vouchers for days out and restaurants. I also get a family railcard with it and have bought magazine subscriptions too.

The money is taken off at the point where you pay - my shopping was full price until I hit the "pay now" button and then it recalculated the final bill with all the discounts applied.

They may scan at the normal price but then should be discounted at the till.

@flatpack1 you scan the products first and they will come up as full price but when you scan your clubcard the till reduces the price of the item to the clubcard price.

for example I bought terry's chocolate oranges ticket price £1 clubcard price 75p:
it scans as ticket price £1
once I scan clubcard it shows on the till as -25p so I only pay 75p

hope this helps

Wimbledon11 · 04/10/2020 19:57

Brilliant! I wish I would have signed up sooner now. I saved nearly £11 on my shop today Grin
