I’ll start by saying I’ve suffered with anxiety and chronic insomnia in the past but have been doing really well recently.

Thai afternoon a woman walking past our house stopped and took a photo of our front door and then our car. Why would a stranger do that?

I can’t stop thinking that something bad is going to happen tonight, a break in or a fire. Dh is working a late shift and I’m here with our teens. I have to be up early so have come to bed but I can’t relax.

I’ll be ok won’t I?

Street bingo has become popular over lockdown, where people take photos of eg a red door, something beginning with F (like a Ford Fiesta) to complete their ‘bingo card’.

@MarriedtoDaveGrohl

Of course he didn't see her but he may know a young woman nearby with a reason to walk past..
Not quite sure what you mean but we live on a main road though the village, dozens of people walk past our house every day. He wouldn’t know why or what she was doing even less than I do.

This happened recently to a friend of mine, a man pulled up in a car and took photos of the house and cars, she had cctv and notified the police who tracked down the man. He said he thought the house was for sale (no idea why, no board etc) hence why we was taking the photos. The police went and spoke to him and then informed my friend of the above. Nothing else has ever come of it.

If it's a main road it's probably the bingo thing. I think it's worth looking at the different possibilities and keeping an eye out - it unsettled you enough to not sleep after all. I'm not saying he is I'm simply saying it's one of a number of explanations and you would then look at the other factors around that and see if she pops up again. It's not unheard of after all.

Comments like this are SO unhelpful.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that the OP's husband is having an affair, but it seems that some people just can't help themselves.

Emeeno1 · 01/10/2020 12:48

I once had a car follow me all the way home and a young woman accuse my son of taking pictures of her car when he was actually taking pictures of the sun setting out the back window (he loves photography).

People are not always doing what you think they are doing. Many of us are far more boring.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 01/10/2020 12:53
@MarriedtoDaveGrohl are you unsubtly suggesting OP's husband is having an affair or something?
Oh I see! No he’s not having an affair.

It unsettled me because if HER behaviour, literally nothing my husband has done has unsettled me. I’m unnerved because I was concerned she was ‘casing the joint’, not because I think my husband has been unfaithful. What an absolutely bizarre conclusion.

Maybe she used to live there?

I was very fond of childhood homes I left age 10, 13, 14 with no photos of them. Decades later in adult life, I'd make detours to take a quick pic for my albums.

Hm. Unlike a policeman to be so relaxed. Athapaskan he knows her and didn't want to let on?

This is the most utterly ridiculous stretch I have ever seen on here to imply her DH is having an affair.

I was going to suggest Pokemon Go, too. My brother and I played it when it first came out (very briefly) and we got asked why we were pointing our phones towards a neighbour's garden.

I responded that it was to catch a Weedle, and got a mouthful about privacy.

It so wasn't worth it for a bloody Weedle.

But honestly OP, it's almost certainly something innocent. It would be a little bit suspicious for someone to come taking photos in the middle of the day if they were planning to rob you - too many people around who might notice!

ODFOx · 01/10/2020 13:50

We had a Pokemon gym on our front lawn for a while. I had no idea what was going on.

If it is a Pokemon stop I'd expect there to be more than one person turning up. More likely 'drowning cos I love my doggy so much' soggy selfies. One pic of her, then one of the dog, from your angle looking like door and car.
