Potential fraud

I live above a mother and her two kids, the mother doesn't work but she has recently got married. One of the kid is starting to work now but doesn't work all the time. The husband use to work but is now not working. I feel the son is getting paid cash in hands and they are reporting this.I know I will probably get abused for writing this but I feel if they are doing nothing wrong, then if I report them it should be fine.

Eh? What business is it of yours?
So if you report them for fraud even though you have no proof, and if they receive benefit, it will stop immediately. You are happy o do this. Wow, You sound right evil, get a life and concentrate on learning how o be a nice person.

longwayoff · 30/09/2020 11:41

Get a GP appointment OP. You are obviously unwell.

Scweltish · 30/09/2020 11:41

Get a life op

HoratiotheHorsefly · 30/09/2020 11:41

Reporting them for what? Working? Getting married? What?

Seeline · 30/09/2020 11:44

So you think that one of the occupants may have started a new (part time) job and is possibly being paid cash? And you want to report them?

Why?

What have they done to rattle your cage - there must be a huge backstory here for you to be that mean!

TapingTheTop40 · 30/09/2020 11:46

Wow some of the replies on here.
Why do people have to be so rude?

OP I see your point but I don’t think it’s worth getting involved as it could have backlash on yourself.
Liars usually get found out or suffer some other way so just let karma take care of it.

toria658 · 30/09/2020 11:49

Do leave them alone. Perhaps direct your interest to the Multinational corporations who tax dodge.

As a taxpayer myself, if someone is paid cash in hand then that is the least of my worries, people paid cash in hand tend to be the very lowest of earners, are on the breadline and have no employment rights or safeguards. I am sure that if things were better for them then they would enjoy some employment rights, pay tax and not have to worry about people looking over their shoulder and into their business.

Let them be, most of us would be ruined after 6 months of no income and who knows how we ourselves would behave if the salary wasn’t regularly deposited into our accounts. I would take cash in hand to survive .... please leave them well alone. As a teenager I was paid cash in hand, perhaps I should be reported?

user1480436542 · 30/09/2020 11:51

Because I am sick of working from home everyday, listening to their tv all day and night. Why should I pay my taxes for people to abuse the system

ShalomToYouJackie · 30/09/2020 11:52

You 'feel like' the son is being paid in cash and they're not reporting it?

Any proof? Spoken to the sons boss? Overheard any conversations?

Glumgal · 30/09/2020 11:54

WTAF!?

Firstly even if the son is working it has no bearing whatsoever on his parents' benefits, so isn't reportable as the son (if an adult) will not be included in his mother's claim. You can only claim for children who are in full time education.

Secondly what the f*ck has it got to do with you?

I'm really struggling to understand why you would want to deliberately cause harm to a neighbour for no apparent reason whatsoever.

Unless there's a huge backstory.

user1480436542 · 30/09/2020 11:55

Sorry can you delete this thread. I have listened to your advice and I feel it was stupid. I will not report and allow them to get on with their lives. Sorry again

StarCat2020 · 30/09/2020 11:55

You don't know anything is going on

lughnasadh · 30/09/2020 11:55

If you have time on your hands OP, why not start a letter writing campaign against the government.

You can get yourself all worked up about their actual, publicly admitted, intention to break the law.

devildeepbluesea · 30/09/2020 11:56

OP you are EXACTLY the type of person Boris wants us all to turn into. I salute you.

Actually I don't, I despise you.

Insaneinthemembury · 30/09/2020 11:56

I hate fraud of any kind. Individuals or huge coorporations.
But unless you know more, I can't see how fraud is happening here?

SBTLove · 30/09/2020 11:56

feel he’s is getting cash in hand
All this because of a loud telly? fuck me you’re nasty. God forbid people are trying to get by when half the country is out of work, you do know benefits are a bare minimum.

CatFaceCats · 30/09/2020 11:56

Try headphones or earplugs then?

safariboot · 30/09/2020 11:57

I feel if they are doing nothing wrong, then if I report them it should be fine.

Wrong. In too many cases the DWP will shoot first (stop benefits) and ask questions later. And Universal Credit and PIP assessors are regularly dishonest.

ellephant · 30/09/2020 11:58

You sound very hateful op. If you know nothing of their circumstances I suggest you mind your own business and concentrate on yourself

And you feel they are abusing the system because...? You've seen the son go out to work sometimes... Wow!
user15412486546 · 30/09/2020 12:01

Don't be a dickhead.

Alfiemoon1 · 30/09/2020 12:14

What proof do you have the son is working cash in hand ?
How do you know what benefits they get
