How can you post your face on a thread and then have 'privacy concerns'?

Yes, this is a blatant TAAT.
The 'how old do you think I am' thread was deleted for the above reason.
Why let it stand in the first place then?
Just don't allow identifying pictures FFS. Not to mention obvious let's boost my ego ones.
I know this will be taken down, but not before MNHQ have a think about the logic behind their ridiculous deletion message, I hope.
Either let people post their faces but then refuse a deletion for privacy purposes, or don't let them do it in the first place.
You can't have it both ways, MN (or shouldn't), and neither should posters.....

She wasn't 'very wrinkled' at all, TrixieBelden. What a snotty comment.

She looked great for any age and I thought she looked much younger than she was.

Who cares if she had second thoughts and wanted the thread deleted? With the way these threads get stolen by tabloids and dissected on other sites, even the most innocuous of threads can take off in an unexpected way. Would I post my face on MN? No. But if you want to do so and then ask for it to be deleted, crack on.

I also can’t understand why folks have an issue with them being deleted, it’s like some form of punishment, if you’re vain enough to do it, then fuck you it stays for posterity, suffer bitch, kind of thing.

Just let it be deleted it’s no issue.

However on saying that, I cannot imagine ever looking at myself and thinking I think I’ll post a pic on mumsnet and ask everyone to guess how old I am, it’s just so self absorbed,

Every single time someone does it, the majority of answers are pretty much in the right age range, apart from some twats who deliberately go much older or younger, the majority getting it right.

And it clearly often pisses the op off that the majority of folks did get it right and they do look their age.

Isn't it just a bit irresistible to say 'you look like a very well preserved 70 year old'?

I don’t think so no, I am always honest. I think that most folks do, because generally the age range, give or take a couple of years either side is accurate.

@Ernieshere

It was probably someone she didnt like anyway.
I think so too
anotherpersontoday · 21/09/2020 10:04

The op was definitely thinking we’d all guess 30s when she clearly looked late 40s. If she looks early 30s then I must look positively fetal.

Also op of that threads pic is still visible via google cache, not sure how long it takes for that to disappear.

Marisishidinginmyattic · 21/09/2020 10:06

It’s probably because they can’t guarantee that OP is the person in the pic that everyone was (presumably knowing this place) ripping to shreds.
