🚨 (Light hearted thread alert)

I HATE prosecco- it’s horrible- it’s tastes like fizzy piss. (No i’ve never tasted urine before but this is how I imagine it would taste)

I also hate crisps. They are the opposite of cake- mmm cake.

Mrs Browns Boys is not funny whatsoever. I tried to watch a few episodes but my eyes started bleeding.

I hate watching people dancing. It’s boring. I do not understand why Strictly is so popular.

Please tell me your unpopular opinions? Grin

Children are psychopaths and teenagers are even worse.

Fleabag was brief bits of humour buried in hours of tedium.
Real gin drinkers take theirs from a highball glass and with Schweppes tonic.
Why is a party that cannot win an election after 4 tries - all of them against totally useless opponents - still being taken seriously as a political party? (looking at you Labour)

Yippeeforme · 21/09/2020 01:20

All dairy-based desserts only taste good in one of these 3 flavours:
vanilla, chocolate, caramel
Fruit-flavoured ice-creams/cheesecakes/milkshakes/etc are VILE!

Movies are getting very, very boring. Also I'm tired of being expected to watch Pixar movies as an adult.

Grey painted walls are depressing and cold and the trend needs to die already.

IKEA furniture is shit.

Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the goofiest songs ever written and this is not a compliment.

Hangingover · 21/09/2020 02:09

A lot of people have a drinking problem (me included).

WinWinnieTheWay · 21/09/2020 02:29

Soap Operas are aimed at keeping the working classes down by making them pessimistic and striping them of ambition.

Baked Beans are Satan's semen.

danascully96 · 21/09/2020 03:01

Trashing on the Kardashians is banal and makes me think less of you (although I agree with someone above who said they dislike the reality show as I generally don’t find those shows appealing).

While Hamilton has good songs, I much prefer Les Mis.

Swedish Fish are nasty.

British grammar makes more sense than American. The only thing I don’t get is why some British people say “er” in place of “a”?

People shouldn’t put pictures of their kids online until they’re a good bit grown — the internet isn’t a safe place.

The anti-American comments on here are bewildering to me, as I’m American... but lately we’ve admittedly earned some derision 👀😂

Modern movies seem jarring and unnatural because of how high def they are/reliant on special effects

Not a big fan of wine, but I love draft beer (without hops)

If the Bible hinges on innocent sacrifice for God’s liking, then is it really a moral compass? I’m starting to wonder.

The transphobia on here is odd... of course there are issues that come with social change, such as figuring out how sports are divided, but then condemning trans identities because we don’t have all the answers? That’s a prime logical fallacy. We can accept that there will be issues without turning against the movement as a whole. However, I agree the language used to avoid offending people is awfully jargon-y and unclear.

Edgar Allen Poe isn’t that great of a writer. He’s like Stephen King — good plots, but odd syntax.

Ribrabrob · 21/09/2020 05:09

Trainers and dresses look absolutely ridiculous together. They do not go.

SheeshazAZ09 · 21/09/2020 05:27

It’s not ok, if you are a restaurant owner, to force vegetarians like me to eat nasty, bland and nutritionally deficient vegan and gluten free meals just because you can’t be arsed to provide separate options for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-sensitive ppl.

Note I don’t think vegan and gluten free food has to be nasty and bland and non-nutritious but it just always is in the restaurants guilty of this crime.

Mistymonday · 21/09/2020 05:37

Petrol/diesel cars should be banned asap.
There are too many humans.
Eating meat should be criminalised. As should astroturf.
Protecting the environment should precede ‘human concerns’.

Scrumptiousbears · 21/09/2020 05:49

Why do people have cats, kick them out to roam free and shit in peoples gardens but moan then they get run over.

Applepieandcustardandicecrem · 21/09/2020 06:34

@Chicchicchicchiclana why read the thread and take the trouble to contribute?!
This thread is light-hearted, as stated in the OP. No malice or harm intended, just people sharing their unpopular opinions! If you don't like it, scroll on!!

Applepieandcustardandicecrem · 21/09/2020 06:41

Here's a few more of mine.
People shouldn't have children if they can't afford them.
I cannot abide chav names, names that are hyphenated and names that are too 'out there'
Cannot fathom this obsession with grey/pale pink decor in people's homes. Seems like everyone is on the bandwagon with it at the moment, one has grey the lot have to have it.
Other people's children irritate me and can't stand it when they are cosseted and pampered by their parents even when they're little shits.

Badbanana · 21/09/2020 06:58

People shouldn't have children if they can't afford them.

So only the upper and upper middle classes then?

Because the under/working/middle class can’t really afford children can they? They end up a net drain on society unless they pay for their school/medical care all themselves, and if they claim any tax credits or child benefit.

Could your parents have afforded to have you?

As an aside one of the best mothers I’ve ever seen was ‘under class’. Both of her children ended up with scholarships and went on to university (when it was much rarer) more than that, they had impeccable manners, were kind and the nicest people I’ve met. The eldest was my room mate in the first year and best friend since. They are now both higher rate tax payers.

In contrast some of the more odious waste of spaces I’ve had the misfortune to come across (like the boss who raped a young colleague) have been born with a silver spoon shoved up their arse.

gubbbbbddaaaa · 21/09/2020 07:02

But all houses were new and soulless once 🤷‍♀️.. I have one and it's cool .. very full of stuff and fun!!

I watched ten minutes of Hamilton and hated it .. soo am dram !!

Gancanny · 21/09/2020 07:23

This thread is light-hearted

And then you immediately post a load of classist, benefit bashing rubbish.

Soooooo lighthearted... Hmm

Applepieandcustardandicecrem · 21/09/2020 08:06

@Gancanny if you're referring to me, it's a thread where people are expressing unpopular opinions. It's not people to come on here and pick them apart. They are my opinions, yes. Make of them what you will.

TisConfusion · 21/09/2020 08:08

Haven’t rtft.

Halloumi. I wanted to like it but I think it’s salty, rubbery, sometimes squeaky...weirdness! I actually find it wrong that it’s called a cheese! So disappointing.

Hummus. Love chickpeas, love falafel...can’t do hummus - think it’s a texture thing. Everyone seems to love it though.

This one I’m not sure if it’s an unpopular opinion in general but certainly around where I live it is - balloon releases. Can’t say it in real life because usually they’re done in memory of someone who has died and anyone who dares oppose gets told to fuck off because they’re heartless. But honestly it looks pretty for a minute when they first go up into the sky but then they end up as litter and/or killing an animal that’s caught in it or tries to eat it. And then there’s the waste of helium which is a finite resource and needed in MRI scanners. Just think there’s better ways to remember someone.

Applepieandcustardandicecrem · 21/09/2020 08:10

@Badbanana my parents could afford me and my siblings, yes. My dad held down two jobs to make sure we were provided for before starting his own business in the late 80s. Money was tight at times but we were fed and cared for.

I've not mentioned anything to do with class, you're the one who has brought it up . Not once did I mention it in my post.

Badbanana · 21/09/2020 08:16

@Applepieandcustardandicecrem that’s impressive, and your parents paid for all of your education and medical care?

Because, if they didn’t, the tax payers were paying for you, not your parents.

I absolutely detest long fake nails. They make me feel sick to look at them, I can't help thinking about all the germs trapped underneath Envy

@SallySeven

Oh I think pandas are the most irritating animal we are supposed to love.
Chris Packham reckons we should just let them die out!

And i agree with him, actually...
