Not too scary, not too tricky to follow, possibly funny (but not teen/ American Pie wanking joke type funny). Probably recent rather than a ‘classic’.

Have you seen Dinner for Schmucks? It’s funny and really entertaining.
I didn’t think I would like it but I enjoyed it enormously and it the added bonus of Paul Rudd.
It’s on Netflix.

CherryCocktails · 19/09/2020 12:16

The Favourite?

BusySittingDown · 19/09/2020 12:17

Game Night was good. Watched that the other week.

Kanaloa · 19/09/2020 12:18

If you have netflix, Captain Fantastic is quite good and was easy to follow with some funny bits.

isseywith4vampirecats · 19/09/2020 12:20

the night at the museum films are good

Flynn2019 · 19/09/2020 12:21

I thought the wrong missy on Netflix was hilarious. I am easily amused though lol

SebastianTheCrab · 19/09/2020 12:41

Knives Out on Amazon Prime is brilliant. Watched it the other week. Old school murder mystery (not gory at all) with an amazing cast.

pussycatinboots · 19/09/2020 12:49

Die Hard - it'll put you in the mood for Christmas 🎄 Xmas Grin

GazingAndGrazing · 19/09/2020 12:51

The call on Netflix, not funny but brilliant

SummerHouse · 19/09/2020 12:56

The new Jumanji films are great. Can we also talk food. Chocolate raisins and peanuts gets my vote.

FourEyesGood · 19/09/2020 13:08

Seconding ‘Knives Out’. It’s funny, beautifully shot and a nice blend of predictable and twisty.

longtompot · 19/09/2020 13:09

Another vote for Game Night. Hilarious film.

The new Jumanjis are really great fun to watch too.

We watched The Old Guard last night and that was good. A lot of action, some ouchie closeup scenes.

Jenniferturkington · 19/09/2020 13:31

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve seen Knives Out and really enjoyed it!

MrsMaglev · 19/09/2020 13:49

Game night is brilliant!!

ifiwasascent · 19/09/2020 13:49

@pimble die hard is most definitely a Christmas film! A simple favour is brilliant. Following as I'm also on the hunt for a film tonight!

EmmaStone · 19/09/2020 13:51

On the Basis of Sex. About Ruth Bader Ginsburg, starring Felicity Jones. Fitting given her passing yesterday.

TastelessBracelets · 19/09/2020 14:04

What We Did On Our Holidays
Mall Cop (no, don't)
Hunt for the Wilderpeople

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/09/2020 14:09

If you don't mind fake gore, then I'd recommend 'what we do in the shadows' the film version on prime. It's a very funny (well I thought so) vampire mockumentary.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/09/2020 14:10

I loved the Eurovision Fire Saga too.

Whohasnickedmyvodka · 19/09/2020 14:11

Project x very funny

cloudjumper · 19/09/2020 14:19

The Greatest Showman
Steel Magnolias
Despicable Me

Jenniferturkington · 19/09/2020 14:33

Ah yes, Eurovision was funny in a ‘so bad’ sort of a way!

Get hard

Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart.

Wigeon · 19/09/2020 16:41

I liked What we did on our holiday more than I thought I would. Funny and bittersweet, and just a good British film.
