I'm enjoying my peaceful cuppa, in the kitchen, with the window open. It's chilly this morning.

The washer's not on - it's broken so my friend did me some of the girls' uniforms yesterday that I'll nip and pick up shortly.

Neither of the girls have homework to do so I think we'll just tidy round, wash last night's pots, and chill for the day. Dd2 needs tights so I might nip to town for those.

DIY pizzas for tea. I might even make wedges to go with them.

What about you lot, anyone up to much? :)

@RedCatBlueCat oh no! Everything crossed you find him Thanks

I'm still in pjs drinking coffee and watching victorious with dd. Eldest dd is getting dressed, the two ds are at football with dh.
I need to do a bit of ironing and make the beds.
We are going out for tea with the kids later to a pub with a beer garden to enjoy the last of the sunshine (a probably last of our freedom!)

ImaSababa · 19/09/2020 10:29

DH is still in bed as he was on the night shift with newborn DD. I'm with her now on the sofa watching vlogs on YouTube. It's Jewish new year and MIL came over last night - first time meeting her granddaughter! She brought loads of tasty food which we'll be enjoying today. The cat is finally warming to the baby, so he's here on the sofa with us.

Champagneforeveryone · 19/09/2020 10:33

I'm hungover and have a million things to do as back to work very early tomorrow morning.

So far I have put the washing in the dryer (because I was too lazy to hang it up Blush) and drunk a cup of tea.

DH and DS still in bed, DDogs are withering away from starvation as they haven't had breakfast yet, and DCat is hunting a feather down.

I love these chats too!
DH is just making a cooked breakfast and then we are going to look at a house that he is interested in us buying...I'm not keen but I'll have an open mind...

May pop to a garden centre later, have washing to do and some school prep for this week Grin

Alfiemoon1 · 19/09/2020 10:39

I am working from home today dd still in bed ds has done some homework and has an online tutor soon
Washer on will peg out later and tonight we might go to see Blackpool lights

Agbqzy · 19/09/2020 10:41

I'm in hospital just waiting for paperwork etc. Hope to be back home soon for a cup of tea and a slice of cake.GrinBrewCake

Frownette · 19/09/2020 10:43

Hope MrCat turns up soon.

I've gone back to bed with a glass of lemon water, looks like I've got a chest infection due to the phlegm.

They're not supposed to make you feel like shit though, are they?

boredboredboredboredbored · 19/09/2020 10:44

I'm at dh house in Shrewsbury (don't live together at the moment) I've just been for a lovely run by the river. I'm going to do some cleaning then I'm off to potter around the town.

He has two gorgeous kittens too so I'm being entertained by cuteness 😻

Crunchymum · 19/09/2020 10:46

Anxiously waiting for a coronavirus test to arrive to make the midday post (isn't going to happen!!). Otherwise we miss the time frame for testing and are all in until 30th September Shock

DP has been working away and as he is self employed we've made the decision he isn't coming home so it's just me and the kids. I think we'll have a lazy day and pizza and doughballs for dinner (have a food shop being delivered and ordered some Pizza Express goodies as they are half price!)

Tomorrow, more of the same I suppose as we can't go out.

Such a shame as test fiasco (took me 48h to get one and then the lack of post collection between Sat and Monday means it won't make the 5 day time frame) so next week as well as older 2 missing school and Daddy not being able to come home my youngest misses a medical appointment, a private physio session and her first day at nursery. All because 5yo had a cough!!

riotlady · 19/09/2020 11:02

We’re in local lockdown now so our original weekend plans have been cancelled! DP is off to Sainsburys and DD and I are eating grapes on the sofa and watching the wiggles. Will probably play in the back yard this afternoon and do a bit of tidying, then DP is making spicy chicken linguine for tea.

MegaClutterSlut · 19/09/2020 11:19

Not up to much today, went to a bootsale this morning. Just put a wash load on and probably just going to laze around today

RedCatBlueCat · 19/09/2020 11:23

Thank you for the cat wishes. I'm coming round to the fact he's gone. BUT, it's cold at football, so if he is just chasing mice, perhaps the change in weather will force him home?!

HipHopBanzai · 19/09/2020 11:29

Just the normal weekend routine here, almost feels like life pre covid if I don't think about it too hard.

School uniforms washed and drying on the line. Ballet lessons have restarted, so I've done the first of several runs back and forth to the dance school. Just made some fairy cakes with the littlest DC and we'll ice those later this afternoon.

A quiet but normal weekend. Exactly what the doctor ordered at the moment.

drspouse · 19/09/2020 11:51

No swimming, friend has cancelled, might go tomorrow... Weather looks OK then but it would be a rush for the cinema later.
I do hate people cancelling plans! I know they don't do it on purpose.

Crunchymum · 19/09/2020 11:54

@RedCatBlueCat

So sorry to hear this, I hope you find him.

We had to have our 12yo girl PTS on Mondays (so not quite the same thing but utterly heartbreaking none the less)

It's been a fucking shit week.

Keep the faith, my PIL cat went missing for 3 weeks. Must have made some way along the railway tracks as she was eventually handed in to a vets several miles away. But they did reunite her with my PIL.

Same cat also ended up locked in a house being renovated (builders dispute and the owner had a few weeks between the old and new builders being sorted. Cat spent 11 days locked in)

Maybe that particular cat was trying to tell them something Grin

SummerHouse · 19/09/2020 12:18

Oh crunchy that's rubbish. Is there not a centre near you that takes last post on a Saturday late afternoon? We faced the prospect of two weeks isolation and it wasn't good.

Unfortunately not, the email specifically says don't go to a post office.

Test still isn't here anyway (due before 8pm today!)

julesover40 · 19/09/2020 12:31

Love this chat, happy weekends all!
2 loads of washing out to dry in garden. Floors washed and dinner in slow cooker (planning a lazy eve). Dd2 (8) and I have a banana loaf baking then dropping her to drama club after lunch and going on an impromptu shopping trip with dd1 (13). Dh will pick up Dd2. Quite excited as she never really wants to go anywhere, so hopefully will have a fun afternoon together x

Frownette · 19/09/2020 12:38

Very chirpy thread title by the way, lucysmam

uglyface · 19/09/2020 12:38

DP and I took nearly 2 year old DD to a park earlier, and for some reason I had a complete meltdown watching them play. Been sobbing on and off since that DP is getting older (he’s late 40s) and our time together is limited. Keep thinking back to memories of our decade together before DD in sadness that we can never go back.

I think this is a combination of Covid effects, a failed IVF last week and a stressful week at school (I’m a teacher).

It’s lovely to hear about life going on as normal elsewhere, it really helps!

Serena1977 · 19/09/2020 12:47

Chilling day today after first full week of school after first week disrupted by needing a test for dd8.
Done a load of washing. Kids are playing a snake game on the ipad like the old one that use to be on brick phones.
Dh at work till 3pm, I'll be going to the allotment when he's back then nip round to Tesco for click and collect.
no idea what's for tea, hoping for a quiet evening in of telly, crossword and a catch up with dh.

REDLIPSTICKANDNAILS · 19/09/2020 13:04

Fresh pot of coffee
Washing and ironing
Dog walk
Making tortillas for dinner
Crochet and knitting
Sitting in the sun with my 3 guinea pigs

HRHQueenMortificado · 19/09/2020 13:50

Just home from a walk in the countryside, the cafe we wanted to go to was too busy so we're home for lunch had salad and some tomato cheese mushroom things from Morrisons we're going to bed down for a snuggly afternoon watching a film now.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 19/09/2020 14:03

Picked the last tomatoes off one plant and cut it up for compost.
Then knitted the ears, tail, and 2 back legs of a donkey (for a Nativity set) while sitting outside in the sun.
Came in to do some tidying and hoovering, but I think I’ll go back out and knit his front legs instead.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/09/2020 14:10

We just had our midday meal of oven vegetables. Now I am watching the new AntsCanada video.
And then I'll have to get the kitchen back on track.

I am looking for a Norwegian tutor to improve my pronunciation otherwise I'll traumatise unsuspecting Scandinavians.
