Can anyone help me find this Richard Scarry picture?

Here's a mystery that some of you might like to help me with.
I'm sure I've seen in one of Richard Scarry's books a picture of a small house with one room upstairs and one room downstairs. Upstairs is a rabbit(?) sitting on a chair in front of an airvent coming of a huge boiler downstairs, and there is literally nothing else in the house. I have bought my daughter about 12 richard scarry books, and this picture isn't in any of them. I know a book we don't have is the massive red one that is as big as a child. Does this ring a bell to anyone? Did I dream it?

I've just realised that in the photo I posted where Mamma burns the cake (which seems to happen a lot in the stories I looked at...), the two ovens are different and the coffee pots are too, in the same story. Weird!

Just looked through Storybook Dictionary but it’s not in there. I know we have others somewhere! This one was out cos it’s a good size to lean on when drawing!!! Doesn’t get read anymore!

OP, lots of (free to access) Richard Scarry books on the Internet Archive if you want to hunt through them

Another huge Richard Scarry fan here. I was given a couple as a child in the late 60s and loved their American exotic ness. An American friend gave my DS a couple when he was very small and DS also adored them. I think Scarry is literally the only children’s author my DC and I had a mutual liking of. I won’t hear Lowly Worm being dissed either.

Our favourite picture was “Woodchuck in a hurry” with a pulled over car, a cross looking father woodchuck and the small one running off with some urgency to the toilet Smile.

I read that Richard Scarry’s parents used to have a General Store (in New England, I think) and he used to sit and watch the comings and goings. I think that somehow you get that feeling from some of the books.

it wasn't Richard Scarry's Best Ever Mother Goose??

I had a quick google as your description reminded me of a book my brother had as a child and it threw up a few but I remember this one with the kittens and mittens and a pie on the front

@sparticle thanks for those, it doesn't really narrow it down, although they are lovely. From getting so many of the books its funny to see how many of the drawings are recycled and the stories repeated. I think children love it all the more for it.
@Aknifewith16blades I will hunt directly, thanks for this link
@TawnyPippit I like the fact that you are rewarded by jokes for looking carefully at the details

@LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow I don't have that one, so I can't check it. I'll look on ebay

I've checked our stash and can't find anything unfortunately (had a very nice afternoon though!).

There are a couple of books we don't have, and I haven't seen mentioned on this thread, that might be worth looking for -
A day at the Airport
A day at the Police Station
The Please and Thank you book

Good luck!

Dunno if you found it yet but this should be the book you're referring to:

So lovely that this thread popped up - we often say ‘I’m busy than Richard Scarry today’ after his ‘very busy people’ book!

Amazing (or maybe not!) how many of us kept our Richard Scarry books, and read them to our own DCs. DS adored them, even though they were falling to bits.
