I’m really struggling to think of ideas!

What would you ask for?

I usually ask for gift cards.
Otherwise specific books I want, specific perfume or moisturiser I like, jewellery, pyjamas, mugs, chocolates...

LadyGAgain · 14/09/2020 22:35

Amazing skin care

YorkieTheRabbit · 14/09/2020 22:51

Neom skin therapy candle. Let it burn for a while until it melts, blow it out and allow to cool slightly then our the oil on to your hands and rub on to skin. Smells gorgeous and makes skin lovely and sot.

Quality skin and hair care

Winter coat/boots

iPad or similar

Upgrade of something you use regularly, watch, gym bag, garden tools, random stuff but I’ve no idea of your hobbies or budget for who’s buying

sorryforswearing · 15/09/2020 01:36

Magazine subscription
Voucher for manicure/pedicure etc

NeverHadANickname · 15/09/2020 01:38

A mini photoshoot for the family. I'd love a spa day. Something for the garden maybe? I really like experiences rather than things, even a nice meal out somewhere.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 15/09/2020 04:31

It’s mine next week. DP is getting me a new book, a bottle of scent and a bag of pear drops😺. Mum, a Burleigh cow creamer and Dsis a vintage tablecloth. Best friend, I don’t know but her presents are always fabulous. Mum asked how I want to celebrate. Tea and cake and dinner out, probably. Happy Birthday everyone.💐🎂

Ragwort · 15/09/2020 04:39

A car valet service Grin, I don't want or need anything but to have a professionally cleaned car would be a real treat (and no, a cursory, two minute vacuum by my 19 year old DS just isn't the same).

An acrylic painting pouring set
The new ken follett book

Rebelwithallthecause · 15/09/2020 05:09

Some stone goblets for drinking wine from m

A case of chapel down

A David Austin rose

LittleRa · 15/09/2020 05:13

I asked for a chilly’s water bottle last month, I use it every day.

pussycatinboots · 15/09/2020 06:46

For me...?
Some Cuprinol Shades for the shed, I'm sick of it looking like it's just emerged from a tanning salon.
Some comfy warm slippers and a new pair of trainers.
A lightweight coat for autumn.
A meal cooked for me and not by me.
Oh, and a dishwasher.

FatGirlShrinking · 15/09/2020 06:53

I asked for an overlocker but unless you like sewing that won't help 😀

Amazon gift vouchers are another firm favourite for me.

This. I want a DryRobe (long, loose insulated waterproof coat) to replace my towelling changing robe. Great preset for an outdoor swimmer. Not so much if you’re not.

awsomer · 15/09/2020 07:03

Love all these ideas! (I did have to look up what a Burleigh cow creamer was though.)

Mine is imminent: I have asked for new OS (paper) maps (ours are literally 20 yrs old & new maps come with digital download codes, bonus), a changing robe for after indoor swimming (change rooms closed until further notice) and a bottle of Southern Comfort. Chocolate is fine, too.

valet service for car is a nice one I hadn't thought of (!)

BikeRunSki · 15/09/2020 07:34

@yeOldeTrout, the Decathlon towelling change robes that cost £25 are excellent.

billybagpuss · 15/09/2020 07:42

I would like nice garden pots not plastic,
Cool pot feet, I’ve got my eye on some in the shape of collie dogs
A hedgehog house and a bird box

Guess what I’ve been doing during lockdown 😂

yeOldeTrout · 15/09/2020 07:54

Decathlon towelling change robes are out of stock (?)

What is their delivery charge for that kind of item, I thought delivery charges for Decathlon were relatively expensive in past. 100 km away is my nearest branch.

Somanysocks · 15/09/2020 08:08

@Ragwort ooh my car had a surprise valet once when I had some repairs done, it made me disproportionately happy. Alas, with a dog it didn't last long.

BikeRunSki · 15/09/2020 08:31

@yeOldeTrout, it’s this one but as you say, it’s out of stock.

The Decathlon UK website and deliveries used not to be very good at all, but they’ve upped their game massively in the last few years. I’ve ordered loads of sports and outdoor stuff for the dc and I in the last year, delivery charges are fairly normal - £4 or £5 inset to recall. Free over about £50. Click n Collect at Asda.

awsomer · 15/09/2020 09:50

Chocolate is fine, too.
Nice chocolate is always a winner.

Orangecake123 · 15/09/2020 14:04

My birthday is tomorrow. I bought myself a bag of soft chocolate toffee!

I personally don't need anything so food items would be nice in particular : strong + smelly cheese and chocolate.Grin
