DS aged 16 wants to go to the Cinema with friends WWYD?

Why obviously. People ask all sorts of strange things about their teens on MN. If the OP has stated that she was worried about Covid then it would have been clear.

As long as it is within guidelines

The guidelines still say SD is in place if others aren’t members of your household. Therefore they would all need to remain 2m apart.

My 13 and 11yo went yesterday. DH saw them in, and I had been the other week so could tell them what the changes were, it’s just quiet and masks are removed in seats anyway. I was just so happy to have another bit of normality for them

It should be fine if they keep masks on, use sanitiser and keep at a distance.

DD17 is also planning on going to the Everyman cinema with 3 friends. She is hyper about sanitising and distancing, as are her friends so it should be OK (Manchester).
