Where do you buy clothes for your 12 year old daughter?

All i can think of is Next but my daughter doesn’t really like the tops.

Newlook but almost every t-shirt or hoody is cropped. My daughter and i aren’t fans of crop tops.

h&m but the quality isn’t always great.

River Island but they are expensive.

I find it hard to get out due to being unwell so ideally i need to be able to order things.

H&m ,but mainly primark , she is tall so supermarkets no good now, can you do a primark trip every few months ?
I think the quality has improved over time and i always feel i get good value for money .

MalbecLARGE · 11/09/2020 12:29

My DD likes New Look for trousers and jackets, but yes, every top, hoodie, jumper, seems to be cropped.

Peacocks is good I think, but if you're ordering online, they take forever to deliver, so beware!

Ernieshere · 11/09/2020 12:33

Topshop? They start at a size 4 I think, they do decent stuff, although I tend to get it in the sale.

How about Fat Face or even just the John Lewis website instead of seperate shops, that might be better, then you will get a selection of stuff, hopefully some will be reduced.

(Im a tight wad) I bought DDs winter coat in July from White Stuff for £12.

Its a beaut and was £55.

Ernieshere · 11/09/2020 12:36

There is quite a bit on here,

www.johnlewis.com/browse/baby-child/girls-clothes-2+-yrs/view-all-girlswear/size=13-years/_/N-7jlqZ7lsw?showInStockOnly=true

and I also just thought of Gap?

LaTomatina · 11/09/2020 12:40

Fat Face, but wait for the online sales

Pombearbuffet · 11/09/2020 12:41

Gap is good for leggings and T-shirt’s.

MrsPnut · 11/09/2020 12:44

We used to buy quite a bit from Abercrombie and Fitch kids www.abercrombie.com/shop/uk/kids/girls-tops?filtered=true&rows=240&sort=pricelow2high&start=0&facet=ads_f43002_ntk_cs:(%2213%2F14%22) The sale stuff can be really good value and even at full price £12 for a t shirt isn't too bad as they are good quality and we have passed on all of DD's after she outgrew it.

haba · 11/09/2020 12:47

FatFace have 100% cotton tops, not cropped. H&M (usually buy the boys if the colours are ok, because the cotton is thicker and they last better).
Gap sometimes, gone off a bit recently. Zara will often have reasonable cotton basics, but be aware sizing is small compared with UK. Gap, Fatface and H&M are all very prompt with delivery, I've only ever bought Zara in store, so don't know about theirs, sorry.

custardbear · 11/09/2020 13:03

Yumi- great sales too

cheninblanc · 11/09/2020 13:07

H and M. Primark, it's a really hard age to buy for because a lot is pitched at older girls but I stuck with h and m at that age x

MyEnormousTurnip · 11/09/2020 13:13

H&M
Zara
New Look
Hype
Hollister

Love51 · 11/09/2020 13:17

Mine aren't there yet, but remembering back, at 12 don't you just give them a budget and they choose?

KindergardenCentre · 11/09/2020 13:17

H&M, gap and mostly Linden (online, great for taller kids).

KindergardenCentre · 11/09/2020 13:17

lindex, not linden

MyEnormousTurnip · 11/09/2020 13:18

Yes I assumed that’s what op meant? I wouldn’t buy clothes for dd unless she’d specified them but we look together on websites. Maybe the op needed inspiration!
SocraticJunkieWannabe · 11/09/2020 13:27

Lots of the places already mentioned on this thread but also Debenhams

HeyMicky · 11/09/2020 13:48

Vertbaudet has lovely things that are a bit more classic - fewer cropped/slogan/sequinned items

MrsJonesAndMe · 11/09/2020 14:12

I let DD look for clothes online and I will do the final purchasing.

She often chooses from Next, H&M, New Look or George. She is in adult sizes and also don't like cropped things thankfully

lakesidefall · 11/09/2020 14:36

Abercrombie and Fitch kids and gap/old navy.

LovelyLovelyMe · 11/09/2020 15:55

I get some things from the Very website-there's usually a good choice.

Nearlyadoctor · 11/09/2020 16:18

Dd 13 likes Hollister and Jack Wills otherwise H&M.

woodlandwalker · 11/09/2020 16:25

It also depends on how big she is. Some 12 year olds still fit in child sizes whereas others need adult clothes.
