Where do you buy clothes for your 12 year old daughter?

All i can think of is Next but my daughter doesn’t really like the tops.

Newlook but almost every t-shirt or hoody is cropped. My daughter and i aren’t fans of crop tops.

h&m but the quality isn’t always great.

River Island but they are expensive.

I find it hard to get out due to being unwell so ideally i need to be able to order things.

Shein

Hollister and Urban Outfitters are her favourites .

She used to like New Look .

Brandy Melville, Pull&Bear, Bershka, New Look for casual bottoms and plain t shirts. DD hates slogan tops but likes cropped.

Uniqlo smallest adult size - they are great for plain t-shirts and basics without sparkles etc. And the HeatTech things are lovely and warm for winter.

My dd got a few bits in Miss Selfridge that were lovely and no too grown up. They have size 4 and also do petite.

I asked the same question amongst my Facebook friends just recently. My almost 12 year old is at that funny age where things are either too old looking or too young. I don't allow crop tops, other than for gymnastics and she's fine with that. River island is normally our go-to place, but the style in there currently is just awful - lots of frills and big shoulder. All the t-shirts are cropped. So I've been looking for alternatives.

New look has been good, but a lot of mums suggested Shein and tbh I'd never heard of it. It's mega cheap, but the quality of it was actually ok. It did take just over a week to arrive due to it being made in China and had to be sanitised in multiple depots. We also tried Hollister which had some nice t-shirts but we're a bit on the pricey side. Top shop we've not tried but it is on my list.

Thanks for all the replies. Got some good ideas now.

To the person that asked, yes dd gets a budget and she will look on various websites and send me links to the things she likes. Only she is getting frustrated as she can’t find anything she likes but needs clothes.

@innitbloodysuper please can I ask what size you ordered for DD12 on the Shein website?

innitbloodysuper · 13/09/2020 22:24

@KurriKawari I bought her age 12 and they all fit perfectly.
