.. where do you buy your clothes? What brands?

I often end up feeling like maybe I'm looking too old for my age , then go the opposite and feel like I'm trying too hard to look youngHmm

Everyday wear - Next. T-shirts are great quality, jeans fit me well and they do lovely cardis. They are also about the most ethically sound large company, but don't shout too much about it.

Dresses from Boden as I like a pattern.

Going out - New Look.

Smart clothes - Hobbs, Phase 8, Boden

Holiday clothes - Primark.

That's about it!

Robs20 · 10/09/2020 16:35

Mango, Zara, H&M, Asos. Cos for work clothes. I’m 31.

Cam2020 · 10/09/2020 16:36

Closer to 40 now, but I usually buy from H&M, Ted Baker, Phase Eight and formerly Oasis and Warehouse.

GoldenZigZag · 10/09/2020 16:36

Zara, & Other Stories, some second hand/ vintage stuff, Mango (but only if Zara doesn't have what I need), Adidas.

Cam2020 · 10/09/2020 16:37

Almost forgot Zara!

Painsnail · 10/09/2020 16:39

Zara, mango, mint velvet, hobbs (all usually via ebay) or h&m, tkmaxx

EarlyAMwakeups · 10/09/2020 16:42

Boohoo, ASOS, sometimes Primark and if looking for something nice Lipsy which I always found great for workwear nice blouses, and for flattering occasion dresses

BiBabbles · 10/09/2020 16:45

I'm not one to pay attention to brands. I mainly buy from charity shops and second-hand on ebay & similar, though recently found a few nice skirts on everything5pounds.com.

user1469544430 · 10/09/2020 16:45

I am 39 for another two weeks: to avoid the frump, i recommend Monki

Ansumpasty · 10/09/2020 16:46

I’m 34. Mostly Topshop, H&M and Hollister

MysteryMama · 10/09/2020 16:46

New look and boohoo mainly. I’m late 30s but look younger

badlydrawnbear · 10/09/2020 16:50

H&M and primark mostly
Next or Sainsbury's for jeans as I am very short
Vintage shops and fat face when I am feeling rich
Nowhere currently because I find it hard to buy things without trying them.

Imicola · 10/09/2020 16:50

I used to always buy from m&s, but I think they've gone all wrong so I have switched to phase eight when the sales are on. Got a gorgeous jumper by them in tkmaxx this week..win!

GoneAndDoneItAgainAgain · 10/09/2020 16:51

All Saints, Finisterre, basics from places like Baukjen, Ralph Lauren or M&S

ShyTown · 10/09/2020 16:53

Maje, The Kooples, Zara, Whistles, Uniqlo, & Other Stories. I’m 31.

jenniuol · 10/09/2020 16:54

I’m 32, I totally get what you mean about looking old/young thing. Realise this sounds like a total not so stealth boast Blush but I am quite young looking anyway and a very casual dresser which I feel has just got worse over lockdown when I’ve mostly lived in leggings when not at work. I wear a uniform at work so no need for any office type clothes. I live in jeans/sweatshirts/trainers Hmm

I like topshop or river island for jeans. I have quite long legs and both do various lengths, styles etc.

Tops/T-shirt’s and sweatshirts I like ASOS, jack wills (there’s actually loads of stuff without JACK scrawled across if you look Grin), Zara (find the quality really variable though)

I buy an odd thing from marks, next, new look, hush, pink at Victoria’s Secret, h and m etc but not that often. I like sweaty Betty for leggings, expensive but there’s always codes kicking about.

Shoes I wear converse/vans/Nike trainers. Fashionable I am not. Anytime I try and ‘dress up’ I just don’t feel like myself. I hate anything too tight, skinny jeans are ok but I have quite wide shoulders but non existent boobs. If I size up for my shoulders I end up flashing my bra at everyone so I quite like boyfriend style t’s. I hate anything that needs adjusted every time I move my arms.

Pinkypie86 · 10/09/2020 16:55

Kin @ John Lewis
Alice Temperley for nice dresses.
Workwear - M&S, Hobbs, Jaeger.
Oliver Bonas
H&M
Zara for basics and gorgeous shoes.
I buy basic pieces and things that never date. I then use bits to dress them up or down.
Primark is ideal for socks, vests and PJs.
M&S for all other underwear.

Hazelnutlatteplease · 10/09/2020 16:55

H&M
Primark

shesellsseashells99 · 10/09/2020 16:56

Next, H and M, Primark, Tesco,Sainsbury, Asda, Boden or Landsend in sale

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 10/09/2020 16:58

I'm 31.
Gap, for jeans mainly
Sainsburys
Next
George at Asda
Primark for vest tops/plain t-shirts/ longer length tops (I find they wash well, don't lose their shape & last)
Joules occasionally, although it's not what it was 10-15 years ago
Superdry

Trying888 · 10/09/2020 17:02

Zara, H&M, ASOS...32

1990s · 10/09/2020 17:03

Thinking of things I wore this week:

Sainsburys jeans
Sainsburys leggings
H&M shirt
Monki dress
Dorothy Perkins dungaree dress
Monki shirt
Uniqlo t-shirts
ASOS (own brand) dress
New Look jumper dress

That's a fair representation of my wardrobe. I'm pretty low key. Love a lot of black.

unmarkedbythat · 10/09/2020 17:03

I'm almost not a woman in my 30s any more but my answer isn't going to change!
Second hand shops and supermarkets (Sainsbury's being my favourite although recently they have left me cold).

WWYD00 · 10/09/2020 17:05

Marks, Fat Face Foundation, Sainsbury's & Asda. Sometimes Next and New Look and tall ranges from DP.

HowFastIsTooFast · 10/09/2020 17:06

I'm 36.

Superdry for casual stuff and some fancy evening stuff believe it or not. Nothing with the big logos.

Primark when I'm in the UK to get to one.

M&S for work stuff.

I'm currently mourning the loss of Oasis and have no idea where to turn now for the smart-casual stuff I used to get from there.
