What do you have that money can't buy?

Coming to terms with the fact that im probably never going to be a gazillionaire 🤣🤣 But I do feel lucky in lots of ways.

You know that lush feeling you get just before you fall asleep and you are so cosy and comfy? I was chatting to a friend saying that it didn't matter how well off you were that feeling would be the same!

So with that in mind, what experience or things do you do/have that money has no relevance to?

I also love the comfy cosy snuggly bed feeling, although mine certainly did cost money Grin

Self confidence for me, and like a PP said, a waist, so despite being overweight I can still look good and curvy in the right clothes.

A calm family life with affectionate DC and DH. A very calm and unusually affectionate cat. A love of nature. A good head for heights. A really strong appreciation of life's small pleasures, e.g. fresh coffee in the morning, watching birds in the garden, a favourite song on the radio etc. Nice siblings. I love chatting to DSis and DBro on the phone.

My health

Megan2018 · 08/09/2020 21:56

My daughter, my husband, my parents and wider family, my horse, my cats.
I have a lot of love in my life.

loopylindazdaughter · 08/09/2020 22:07

Mmmmm hard one in terms of my marriage. But without a doubt the relationship that I have with my children, hands down I adore every minute with them. Been so upset about them going back to school but know it's for the greater good.

I have a lovely ability though to not give two hoots what people think. I love that, I have friends that get themselves in a state over how they portray themselves or what people think. I couldn't give a shit

bluebird243 · 08/09/2020 22:16

Two great sons and wonderful grandchildren.

A love of nature and a love of reading.

An independent nature which does not follow the crowd.

Pretty good health without pain.

bluebird243 · 08/09/2020 22:16

A great friend.

userxx · 08/09/2020 22:20

No pain.

This 100%. Physical or emotional, you can't put a price on it. Unfortunately you only realise once you're living with it.

My memories. No amount of money can bring someone back to life.
The love I have for my DTs and their love for me. They’re ivf babies so did cost money!
Love in general, dh, my family.
Good health, and healthy children.

I’m very lucky really.

This is the best thread ever! There's not a single response on here that I would trade for a million pounds, you couldn't buy any of them.

DinosApple · 08/09/2020 23:13

My family - parents, DH, kids, siblings, uncle. And the memories of grandparents.
My friends, and some of my work colleagues. Genuinely lovely people, makes having to work a pleasure rather than a chore.

SingingSands · 08/09/2020 23:28

Good health and a good marriage. May they both continue!

@Meredusoleil

Morals 😜 2 happy, healthy children. A man that loves me and is willing to put up with me no matter what!
Just thought of another important one no one has mentioned:

Freedom.

I was just behind a footballer at Starbucks drive thru. While waiting I thought about how much money he had. So I need this thread.mind we were still both drinking the same basic bitch coffee!

My wonderful partner. Every day I'm so greatful I meant him I can't imagine my life without him. My adorable niece I absolutely love spending time with her. She is 3 and has her own little personality. Being creative, obviously materials cost money as did my education in a creative subject. But even without that I feel it is part of me and can be creative with junk materials or even leaves!

unmarkedbythat · 09/09/2020 11:46

A five year old who will tell me very earnestly that "me and A did not get carried away at school today so you don't need to talk to Mrs K at all tomorrow because she gets confused".

A weird imagination and being able to while away hours making uo stories in my head.

Being loved.

golddustwomen · 09/09/2020 11:47

28 soon and still have both sets of grandparents. Watching my young kids love them as much as I do is priceless.

BikeRunSki · 09/09/2020 11:52

A kind, reliable, trustworthy husband who recognises that I have a career, does more of his fair share of the “wife work”, and brings me tea in bed when he gets up first.

SaffyWall · 09/09/2020 11:53

I have two happy, fun, resilient kids and a lovely DH - we have a happy home which I cherish.

And despite the two children and years of breast-feeding I still have a pert, gravity-defying bosom!
