Best brand of tea bags?

mummabear1967 · 03/09/2020 09:12

Can anyone tell me what brand sells the best tea? I remember buying tea bags quite recently and it was lovely but I can’t remember what the brand was.

I love tea and it’s so bad when the tea is disgusting.

Edinburgh Tea and Coffee Company Scottish Breakfast is my favourite. Or (if I can't get it) Punjana.

I can't get on with Yorkshire Tea, it has an aftertaste that I'm not keen on.

Although I've noticed a massive difference in the taste of even quite bog-standard tea if I put fresh water in the kettle. Reboiled water makes even good tea taste flat and weak.

I buy Mark's and Spencer Extra strong teabags and loose tea leaves and Waitrose Gold Extra strong teabags.

It depends on the water - which varies according to where you live. We love Tetley, it works well with our lovely soft water.

Definitely Punjana by Thompson's. I was a Yorkshire Tea girl until I tried these.

TheGriffle · 03/09/2020 12:29

Thomson’s in the red bag.

Birchall

I rarely have tea, but when I do, it has to be Yorkshire Tea. One local cafe serves Yorkshire tea, the others serve Brown Water, so that's the only cafe I go to.

Yorkshire Gold

BiddyPop · 03/09/2020 12:33

One of the few benefits of climate change- tea was never grown in God's Own Country when I was little

Sorry to disappoint you, Yorkshire Tea isn't grown in Yorkshire!

Very few places in the UK have the right climate, but it's a slowly growing market.

EverybodyKeepCool · 03/09/2020 12:36

Clipper. Fully biodegradable now too I think

RockawayBeach · 03/09/2020 12:37

Miles (Devon company - offer free shipping) -literally the best tea by miles! Also their hot chocolate is out of this world

Enb76 · 03/09/2020 12:38

Clipper for lots of reasons but the main reason is that the taste is really yummy, strong but quite a clean bright flavour

ImaSababa · 03/09/2020 12:39

Yorkshire! In fact, I think I will have a cup now.

Soozikinzii · 03/09/2020 12:39

Tetley girl here

MrsJasonIsbell · 03/09/2020 12:39

Scottish blend if you have soft Scottish water. Although my first cuppa of the day is always Assam made from tea leaves to give me a jump start!

ChillyB · 03/09/2020 12:41

Yorkshire Tea!

DemolitionBarbie · 03/09/2020 12:41

I don't care so long as it's not Twinings, that crap is dust off the floor

Sparkesy · 03/09/2020 12:42

Definitely Yorkshire Tea

Marmite27 · 03/09/2020 12:43

Yorkshire

BikeRunSki · 03/09/2020 12:43

Yorkshire Tea, made with Yorkshire Water and Yorkshire Milk 😀

Yorkshire Tea is so called because Taylor’s of Harrogate (who own Betty’s tearooms) blended it to suit the soft water across much of Yorkshire. It’s still imported tea leaves!
