What do you think? Of all the ones I’ve seen I like this one. Not the layout, mine would be very different.

Think it'll date. I'd go for a really plain kitchen and paint the walls those colours.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 25/08/2020 12:13

I like it but I think it is very "now" and will probably date fairly quickly. If that does t matter to you then go for it. I have a similar kitchen in greyish colours but I'm not planning to live here long enough to care about it dating.

grey12 · 25/08/2020 12:15

The 2 colours are a very personal look. I would never pick something like that. White and colour, yes. But it's your kitchen if you love it go for it!!

Other people living there? Do they like it?

It looks like it has been designed for an instagram aesthetic.

I tend not to worry about things dating, and make some quite bold decorating choices, but I make sure I really, really, really love them, which I think makes them look good.

@PickleSarnie

Can you put the colour in with paint and tiles etc instead? Easier to change than units.
If you want a Barbie kitchen then go for pale grey / white units and paint the walls pink with pink accessories, blinds etc . A little pink goes a long way.

Easy to change when you wake up one morning and ask “ What was I thinking ? “.

Some of our cupboards are blue. Not navy, but not bright blue. I disagree about it being dated. We’ve had ours for six years and by the time people are fed up with it, it’ll be time to change it.

Nor does it look cold. The room faces south and it doesn’t look chilly at all. There’s an ice blue that I think does look cold though.

Akindelle · 25/08/2020 12:32

I love it but it will date. You could go for white or grey with just a few pink units? Then when the pink dates you could just replace the doors.

ALLIS0N · 25/08/2020 12:33

Pink and rose gold are fashionable right now so it will be easy to pick up accessories to work with white / pale grey. That’s if you like the pastel look, which I’m guessing you do.

If I was drawn to pink in the kitchen I’d go with a more traditional look with navy / charcoal units. Or furniture as they call it in the posh shops.

Like this. Just a bit of pink, easily swapped for different colour doors when the colour is outdated.

Whoa. I can imagine you coming down for breakfast in a baby doll nightie and fluffy slippers! It's a bit Valley of the Dolls. What does your DH make of it?Grin

user5656 · 25/08/2020 12:37

I think dark coloured units are okay if you have a white work top to reflect the light.

thebear1 · 25/08/2020 12:38

I would not choose it myself but if moved somewhere with it in i would happily live with it. If you love it that's all that matters.

CarolVordermansArse · 25/08/2020 12:40

I don't mind the colours but really don't like the design of it. Too plain, no character and makes me think of an IKEA one.

weepingwillow22 · 25/08/2020 13:30

The colour scheme feels quite 80s to me. For some reason it reminds me of neopolitan ice cream.

If you like it OP then go for it. I wouldn't ask opinions on style on here as a kitchen is a very personal choice. If you are not 100% sure maybe get one with doors that can easily be repainted/resprayed in the future.

Boopeedoop · 25/08/2020 13:39

Very seventies

inappropriateraspberry · 25/08/2020 13:54

It's pretty, but don't think I could live with it every day. I think it would date very quickly and you'd be changing sorts/colours after a year or two.

Reedwarbler · 25/08/2020 14:14

It looks like cabinetry for the make up sales area of a big department store. All it needs is a load of lipsticks and blushers and an over made up assistant to finish the look.

billyt · 25/08/2020 16:14

Not a fan of the colours although they would look even worse in a smaller darker kitchen.

If you go with Wren DO NOT USE THEIR INSTALLERS

Unless you like paying over the odds for a shit install. Don't believe the salesman's lies about using their installers making life easier. How if there is an issue, the installers can get things sorted overnight rather than you having to wait until their next delivery in your area. Total lying bollocks.

I have a Wren kitchen which I'm very happy with. Just wish I'd stuck with installing it myself. Very competent DIY-er but was looking for a stress free installation. Boy, did I get that wrong!!

maddiemookins16mum · 25/08/2020 16:18

Too ‘bathroomy’.

Toilenstripes · 25/08/2020 16:21

What about all white with a pink Smeg fridge?

BlastedMolluscum · 25/08/2020 16:26

To me it looks like the home section from New Look. It's pretty and feminine but I feel like it'll date quickly.

Laburnam · 25/08/2020 16:27

It’s very much of its time

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 25/08/2020 16:28

I really don't like it, but it's your kitchen.
