Had enough. Get a grip people.

Standing in a queue, at a perfectly reasonable distance in a very busy store, and someone just asked my dear sweet husband, who wouldn't hurt a fly to move away as if he was an actual piece of deliberately infectious rubbish. No thought to the fact they are away to sit down and eat in an atmosphere full of people, without masks on and recycled air circulating, no just be rude to my perfectly respectful man. Had enough of this rubbish. People need to get a grip of themselves and screw their heads back on.

They felt he was too close and said so. No need to go into a rage and start ranting at people who were nowhere near either of you.

Morgan12 · 24/08/2020 13:06

😮😮😮

Oh my god! Who will play your dear sweet husband in the much anticipated movie version of this gripping tale?

HasaDigaEebowai · 24/08/2020 13:06

If your dear sweet husband was too close to someone else then what is the problem with asking him to move?

WankyEntitledPeopleEverywhere · 24/08/2020 13:07

He wasn't too close. The woman was being ridiculous.

FallenSky · 24/08/2020 13:09

How close was he? More than 1m at least? Were they rude or did they politely ask him to move back? Did he have a mask on?

user1495884620 · 24/08/2020 13:09

Dear, sweet people can also catch coronavirus. Otherwise the government would have mandates RAOKs rather than face masks.

BillywilliamV · 24/08/2020 13:09

There's nothing wrong with saying "please" to be fair.. but you really should have put this in the " Tell me your unexciting news" thread!

HasaDigaEebowai · 24/08/2020 13:09

Im afraid I think you're the one who needs to get a grip. This is an issue we are all going to need to get used to. She felt he was too close and so its reasonable to ask him to move if she can't move.

Palavah · 24/08/2020 13:12

It was not unreasonable of her to ask your husband to move back.

It was unreasonable to do so in a rude way.

Worldgonecrazy · 24/08/2020 13:13

OP, I agree with you. I have witnessed some very bizarre behaviour whilst out and about.

I just remind myself that the people exhibiting this behaviour have been made scared by the media, and scared people don’t always behave in a rational manner.

shesaidshesleavingonasunday · 24/08/2020 13:16

I kind of agree with you. I've had people walk out into the road to avoid me walking down a wide street, when I've stood to one side to let them pass.

People are thick and don't realise that you aren't going to catch covid from passing someone in seconds in the street, whether they're less than a metre away or not.

WankyEntitledPeopleEverywhere · 24/08/2020 13:16

Yes he had a mask on, no she did not say please.. She was also an equal distance from those queueing in front of her, and clearly entirely unbothered about being "too close" to them.

OP posts:
FallenSky · 24/08/2020 13:19

In that case she sounds like she was just being a dick. Try not to let it bother you. A lot of people are still scared but there's no need to be rude about it.

🍿🍿🍿

millymollymoomoo · 24/08/2020 13:20

Yes people do need to get a grip

TwentyViginti · 24/08/2020 13:22

Does he smell unpleasant?

2bazookas · 24/08/2020 13:37

Have I got this right, a "dear sweet" man has been excused from social distancing and any other form of social responsibility because he married you?

Longwhiskers14 · 24/08/2020 13:39

😂😂😂😂😂😂
WorraLiberty · 24/08/2020 13:41

Was the woman an actual fly though?

Thisismytimetoshine · 24/08/2020 13:41

He was too close to someone else. She wasn't to know this was ok because he is dear and sweet.

DancingCatGif · 24/08/2020 13:42

Do dear sweet people not get coronavirus?

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 24/08/2020 13:46

I'm sweet, but I'm not dear, does this mean my chances of getting coronavirus are halved? Not sure how the maths works here.

SummerHouse · 24/08/2020 13:48

I got told off for stepping in to put my shopping down. I felt like a child.

Get A Grip II in cinemas from Friday.

Chewbecca · 24/08/2020 13:51

I am neither dear nor sweet. What should I do?

1forAll74 · 24/08/2020 14:10

I thought that everyone would know by now, that being in queues and enclosed places, means that you are now going to come across some agitated people, and some complaining people. You have to make allowances for all this changed behaviour.
