Found this. Imagine going back "for coffee" after a date and encountering a skeleton on crucifix and penny sweet machine in situ. Love Rightmove ❤

@Onekidnoclue that certainly is unusual! I've never seen a floor plan with a "massage lounge" on it before. Grin

Nannewnannew · 16/08/2020 10:43

@thegcatsmother

I wouldn't want a TV over the AGA - spatter from sausages.
😂 That made me chuckle, you are obviously so practical and down to earth, just my kind of person!
Steamfan · 16/08/2020 10:46

What about this one - with an unusual sitting tenant!

The display case of fedoras and the unicycle tell me that this is the home of an insufferable man-child who used his parent’s money to start a tech business and now claims he’s entirely self-made and never got a bit of help from anyone. Plus these church conversions are awful- sticking in walls, floors, and ceilings that chop up the windows and arches is just indescribably ugly. I’ve only ever seen one conversion that got it right, it’s hard to explain but they sort of built a house entirely within the church with strategically placed glass walls and suspended staircases that worked with the original architecture instead of just ignoring it.

ClashCityRocker · 16/08/2020 10:52

I've never yet seen a wholly successful church conversion - although this is one of the better examples.

I think I'd feel a bit... Weird... Living in a church.

I like that. I was worried the unusual sitting tenant was going to be a ghost Blush

FlamedToACrisp · 16/08/2020 10:57

Yes, OP, I was wondering who lives there - judging by all the exercise equipment, I'd guess a professional sports person.

I'll have the room with the dolls house, please.

I love it! My husband has always said he wants to live in a converted church, now he wants to play the lottery Grin

Woodendollymix · 16/08/2020 10:59

Think I have seen the second on on TV, something like rate my house of something like that. 4 people go into each others houses and rate it on style comfort and so on, the one with the most points wins.

Creeps me out that one does

SoupDragon · 16/08/2020 10:59

That St Leonard's on Sea property has been on the market for ages. I remember it appearing on a thread like this at lest a year ago I'm sure. I wonder why it hasn't sold....?

MintyCedric · 16/08/2020 11:00

[quote Onekidnoclue]Don’t panic! If the church was too pricey but you love an unusual interior you can still move to Bristol...

It'd be like living in a snooker table!

Quarantino · 16/08/2020 11:01

@PegasusReturns

It’s not done nicely at all Confused

They’ve really butchered some of the architecture with the walls cutting off the arches. And the kitchen looks like it belongs in a wimpey new build. What a shame.

I agree, I couldn't stand to look at those cut off arches! I guessed this was Bristol from the first linked picture.
midsomermurderess · 16/08/2020 11:01

Church conversions are always problematic. The spaces and windows never really work.

mangomama91 · 16/08/2020 11:02

Interesting decor, but amazing property! Be an amazing place for hide and seek!

BrokenBrit · 16/08/2020 11:07

@Steamfan I love that house, and would be delighted to inherit such a lovely resident Grin.

Badabingbadabum · 16/08/2020 11:07

I remember them doing that up. Some interesting items but beautiful building and conversion. Apart from the fridge in the arch, for some reason that really irritates me!

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 16/08/2020 11:09

That Bristol house is amazing

lookatallthosechickens · 16/08/2020 11:10

Ah yes the fridge in the arch- and of course it’s a Smeg, the official refrigerator for people with more money than taste.

What’s that blue vortex leading to?!

Pellewsmate · 16/08/2020 11:12

Am I the only one thinking that the unicycle needs more air in it's tyre?

CatRamsey · 16/08/2020 11:21

Anyone else spot the second skeleton chilling in picture 19

Sexnotgender · 16/08/2020 11:23

Yep.
JudyGemstone · 16/08/2020 11:27

Redland is a nice area of Bristol too.

Imagine the acoustics though! The kids would hear everything 😬

Ilovesandwiches · 16/08/2020 11:32

It’s incredibly beautiful but also freaks me out a bit!
