Made it to the local news! Could you tell me how I look?

I've always wondered what people think of me if they saw me just getting on with my day. The local newspaper did exactly that, now could you MNs tell me what would you think of me? I'm the one on the phone.

@Fressia123

I never realised people on their phones was such a popular pet peeve.
We're in the middle of a pandemic, where people are supposed to be social distancing. That would definitely involve looking where you are going Confused
burnoutbabe · 06/08/2020 16:44

I think the jeans look quite 90s, think it's the bulge around the crotch area?

dudsville · 06/08/2020 16:45
  1. I think you look cute. Nice hair and clothes.
  2. I live in 2020 and am therefore familiar the modern phenomena called "people on their phones whilst walking", so it doesn't irk me!
dudsville · 06/08/2020 16:46

I also think people on this thread are being very mean and i don't know why that is.

WorraLiberty · 06/08/2020 16:46

Actually I've just remembered who the OP is. She's someone who comes across as quite obsessed with her body and looks, so probably shouldn't be encouraged.

KaptainKaveman · 06/08/2020 16:50

@Fressia123

Well the best thing I've got out of this is that to most of you I look young. At 36 I wouldn't necessarily say that of myself.
Truthfully? Many people including me looked far better at 36 than you do. Smile

is that the sort of thing you're after OP?

LioneIRichTea · 06/08/2020 16:51

Ouch @KaptainKaveman

KaptainKaveman · 06/08/2020 16:52

"I've always wondered what people think of me if they just saw me getting on with my day".

Why exactly is that, OP?

KaptainKaveman · 06/08/2020 16:53

@LioneIRichTea

Ouch *@KaptainKaveman*
Just trying to challenge the OP's apparent obsession with her youth: posting a picture on an anonymous forum then soliciting opinions is a little odd, IMO....
Idore · 06/08/2020 16:59

I'd think nothing 🤷. Entirely forgettable like most people.

itsgettingweird · 06/08/2020 17:00

Honestly?

My first thought would be that your a typical phone addict. Everyone else is clearly moving to get out of the rain and using umbrellas etc and you're head down, on phone and possibly in danger of walking into someone or something Grin

JackiFazaki · 06/08/2020 17:06

Your family look pissed off.
Try engaging with them. Hth.

Greenglassteacup · 06/08/2020 17:08

Yep, no idea where the ‘edgy’ and ‘trendy’ comments are coming from based on that photograph

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 06/08/2020 17:14

Why are you walking so far away from your family? no wonder the boy (your DS?) is pissed off 😂

BarefootHippieChick · 06/08/2020 17:14

I would never have guessed they were your family seeing as you're several feet behind them and completely preoccupied on your phone!

MoreSchnitzelPlease · 06/08/2020 17:29

@dudsville

Because it is bizarre that a woman in her thirties wants to know what a bunch of strangers on the internet think about her. Why is it important to the OP that Sue from Surrey thinks that she looks young or trendy? OP comes across as incredibly self absorbed. In the nicest possible way, why would strangers in the street think anything about you, OP? We are all busy getting on with whatever it is we are doing.

You never see men posting photos asking what people think of them, or asking people to guess their age.

vanillandhoney · 06/08/2020 17:31

@Fressia123

I know who they are because they're my family!
Then why are you walking several feet behind them and ignoring them?

Your husband looks pretty pissed off. I wonder if it's because you're on your phone and not engaging with them at all!

WorraLiberty · 06/08/2020 17:31

I do wonder if the OP has some sort of body dysmorphia or attention seeking disorder. She does have form for this sort of thing.

notsodimwit · 06/08/2020 17:45

WinkSmileYou rock op Smile you look so coolSmile enjoy your moment of fame!

Fressia123 · 06/08/2020 17:45

It would be closer to body dysmorphia if anything. I've always wondered if I look fat/slim/skinny to other people as I for many, many years thought looked ok but actually was quite overweight.

OP posts:
Crankley · 06/08/2020 18:13

If that's your family in front then I think you are being extremely rude traipsing behind them like a reluctant 15 year old.

BarefootHippieChick · 06/08/2020 18:15

But surely everyone has a different opinion of what is fat, skinny etc.? One person might think you have a lovely figure and another might think you're overweight, therefore this kind of thread is just going to leave you more confused and with probably more hang ups.

Fressia123 · 06/08/2020 18:19

Actually not @BarefootHippieChick so far so good.

To those who say I'm walking too far away, there's 6 of us with a dog. Walking super close to each other isn't possible at all times

Then wouldn't seeking professional help be better than all the photos you post on Mumsnet and the comments you keep inviting from random strangers?

It's never going to end otherwise and I doubt the mixed bag of comments make you feel that much better anyway.

Right, but there's a difference between not being able to walk super close and ignoring them like a sulky teenager.
