Made it to the local news! Could you tell me how I look?

I've always wondered what people think of me if they saw me just getting on with my day. The local newspaper did exactly that, now could you MNs tell me what would you think of me? I'm the one on the phone.

You look very cool and trendy :)

BarefootHippieChick · 06/08/2020 10:53

fressia lol really?! Oops! Good job one of them wasn't you then. (Sorry but the one in glasses really gives me feminine teenage girl vibes 😁)

BoggledBudgie · 06/08/2020 10:55

Tbh you look inconsiderate and ignorant, walking down the street phone in your face not caring about your surroundings.

Honeyroar · 06/08/2020 10:56

You just look like an everyday person in jeans and a coat to me. Can’t see why people are saying you’re trendy personally. And you have the hugest bag! But I’m old and not fashionable, and I muck my horses out dressed similarly. Perhaps I’m trendy after all! (sorry I’m not meaning to be rude, just wondering what I’m missing!)

gottastopeatingchocolate · 06/08/2020 11:01

I would just wonder what damage that bag is doing to your spine.

Didn't catch that it is Truro. Very different photo from the one I saw on CL of Falmouth yesterday.

Notashandyta · 06/08/2020 11:02

Look ok, but those shoulders! So ageing and bit blokey. Watch your posture.

Making me think about mine now...

TwentyViginti · 06/08/2020 11:03

And you have the hugest bag

I didn't even notice a bag! my eye was drawn to the red umbrella, the yellow raincoat thing, the flowers and the bunting.

Fressia123 · 06/08/2020 11:05

The bag wasn't heavy but certainly bulky. I do think my posture isn't the best ATM. Barefoot the one with glasses is a teenage boy so you weren't that far off :)

You look lovely! Ignore some of the nasty comments.

Silvercatowner · 06/08/2020 11:10

I'm mildly irritated by people walking along the street looking at their phone. Apart from that - you just look like an average person.

I'm not sure I get the point of this thread...

GoshHashana · 06/08/2020 11:11

I honestly wouldn't have noticed you Blush

whattododo · 06/08/2020 11:17

@Fressia123 these photos are never posed... Confusedand honestly my opinion is very little. I would just think, why is that person walking whilst on their phone! It's a pet hate of mine...the amount of people bumping around the streets because they can't be arsed to take their head out of their phones is ridiculous!!

Cam2020 · 06/08/2020 11:20

You look like a completely normal person to me. I wouldn't perceive anything, except someone going about their business.

Fressia123 · 06/08/2020 11:21

I never realised people on their phones was such a popular pet peeve.

I'd think exactly as you phrased it 'person getting on with their day'. You aren't doing anything unusual or wearing anything conspicuous so my eye would sweep over the picture and take you in as part of the general scene without really registering you as an individual.

When I was a teenager I was captured shopping with a friend in a photo of our town's shopping mall in the local paper. We were tiny figures on the edge of the picture and I only knew it was us because of what I was wearing but I pored over it for ages lamenting how awful I looked.

SerenityNowwwww · 06/08/2020 11:31

I can’t even see the phone box!

senua · 06/08/2020 11:36

I think it is quite an amusing picture but says more about the town than it does about you.
It is obviously a tourist town - bunting, flower baskets - full of grockles. They desperately want to be Having a Good Time on Holiday but know all about British weather so they have checked the forecast and gone out armed with cagoules and umbrellas. You, OTOH, are obviously a local: you are popping from A to B and won't be out for more than five minutes so haven't taken wet-weather gear with you. You are also not Staring At The Scenery like a tourist but are lost in your phone.

giletrouge · 06/08/2020 11:46

Young person probably about to break her neck falling over something because she's looking at her phone, not where she's going. Avoid.

Fressia123 · 06/08/2020 11:54

Well the best thing I've got out of this is that to most of you I look young. At 36 I wouldn't necessarily say that of myself.

OP posts:
stonecoasters · 06/08/2020 11:56

Honestly wouldn't look twice :-/ that's not necessarily a bad thing though.

Is that important to you? We are strangers on the internet, why does it matter what we think?
Fressia123 · 06/08/2020 12:12

It doesn't matter in itself @MoreSchnitzelPlease but I've always wondered what would people think if they saw me walking down the street. Which personally I don't find that odd. This photograph is a good opportunity to answer that question.

Ooh yeah
Pelleas · 06/08/2020 12:46

what would people think if they saw me walking down the street.

In my experience, 99% of people we see without really taking them in. I only notice people walking down the street if they are behaving conspicuously or wearing something extremely unusual.

puzzledpiece · 06/08/2020 12:52

Average build and appearance. Average clothes. Average looks.
