What size were you when you stopped liking hot weather?

I know some people have never liked it and some will always love it no matter how big they are, but I feel like at a current size 12 postpartum I HATE the hot weather! (I know this is not very big btw, but bigger than I was so I'm saying comparatively). Feel so sweaty and disgusting whereas when I was a size 8 I loved it, even when I was running around loads. But I suppose l was also younger. Blush

12’s

halcyondays · 17/07/2020 16:37

I never liked it, size is irrelevant

mylittlesandwich · 17/07/2020 16:39

I love the heat and I'm a 20/22 at the moment, I do now however own "chub rub shorts".

Marble2302 · 17/07/2020 16:41

I am a size 14 but pear shaped. I hate the chub rub and it is embarrassing having to wear shorts under dresses. I am aiming to lose 4 stone for my next holiday.

monkeytennis97 · 17/07/2020 16:42

Size 18 it became a bit sticky and difficult by 22, very tricky. Loving it at size 16 now :)

WeveGottaGetTherouxThis · 17/07/2020 16:43

I prefer it less now, even though I’m 2 dress sizes smaller; I actually attributed it to age and that being older has turned me into a miserable heat-hating bastard!

TheRattleBag · 17/07/2020 16:43

About age 5 Grin

Yawwwwwwwn · 17/07/2020 16:44

I've always hated it, it's one of my biggest sensory triggers for meltdown.

I'm obese now, but I wasn't always. I also never had thigh gap even when I was small, I've always had curvy legs.

Snag tights do chub rub shorts in all sorts of colours. And because they're made of the tights material they're really light so not horrid in the hot weather.

lifestooshort123 · 17/07/2020 16:46

Mine isn't down to size (have crept from a 12 to a 16) but age. My thermostat went barmy during the menopause and now, 20 years later, I no longer enjoy the heat or extreme cold. Make the most of being young.

DominaShantotto · 17/07/2020 16:50

9-10 years.

Fatted · 17/07/2020 16:51

I've never liked the hot weather regardless of size. I'm very fair skinned and burn easily. It's even better now my eldest is exactly the same and is also allergic to some sunscreams. Angry

Fatted · 17/07/2020 16:53

Also, how old is your baby? I sweated buckets for about the first three months postpartum. I was showering twice a day. My doctor told me it was hormones and my body getting rid of the excess fluid.

TinkersRucksack · 17/07/2020 16:57

When I was a child, so probably clothes size age 6-8?

user1493413286 · 17/07/2020 16:59

Just picking up on what you said about being post partum; i have found it the worst with a baby as I get so sweaty and hot and bothered through carrying them, feeding etc whereas before children you don’t have to let anyone into your personal space when it’s hot

Ritascornershop · 17/07/2020 16:59

When I was age 12 or earlier and a skinny kid. Size 10 UK now and still hate it.

billy1966 · 17/07/2020 17:08

Size 10-12.
Sise 14 now and don't like it.
Have a stone to shift because of the lockdown....very annoying

SurreyHillsGirl · 17/07/2020 17:11

Size 8. It's more an age thing with me, so around 40. I'm fine if there is a pool, otherwise, forget it. I'm a shade seeker.

cliffdiver · 17/07/2020 17:13

5 foot 4.

fellrunner85 · 17/07/2020 17:46

I've been fat in the heat and I've been thin in the heat, and being thin is so much easier.

Nowadays, all I have to do is put on a light summer dress and sandals, and I look instantly put together. I'm comfortable in the heat, nothing rubs, and I can pull off the no-makeup and messy bun look. On holiday, I can live in swimwear and feel fine. Put simply, even if I make no effort I feel comfortable and I look ok.

Whereas when I was a size 12 it was hard work. I'd have to go to a lot more effort to look and feel ok in the heat. An outfit that looks effortlessly dressed-down now I'm thin just looked scruffy when I was fat. Strappy tops didn't work with my fat arms and massive boobs, and my fat legs used to rub if I tried wearing short shorts. I guess I thought it was normal, and didn't realise how uncomfortable it was until it wasn't an issue any more.

Graphista · 17/07/2020 18:23

I think size is irrelevant. I've always hated it and I was a skinny arse until mid 30's, size 6 until I had dd.

But I'm red headed and have sensitive skin so those are the main issues for me as I don't tan at all, get prickly heat and sweating makes my skin bad.

planningaheadtoday · 17/07/2020 18:34

16

BabyLlamaZen · 17/07/2020 18:49

@fellrunner85 this. It's feeling uncomfortable but I also look a damn mess.

Hmmm age also seems to be a contributor here. Granted I dont get much time to just lie around, but like I said I was always quite active when I was younger. I also, heaven forbid, actually liked how I looked in summer clothes back then! Shock
