What gives you the most enjoyment in life aside from children?

Just a lighthearted thread I guess but all responses welcome.

The dust has settled after a rocky breakup with DH and I now feel like I can reshape who I am and discover what I enjoy in life as opposed to thinking about his happiness all the time!

My children are my whole world but I would love to do something just for me. I guess for now my response would be getting out for long walks in the sunshine, always a huge mood booster!

My dogs. My life would be considerably poorer without them.

Dogs, travel, cooking/eating

My caravan: can travel to new places and still be at home when I get there. I can sit in a half empty field with a glass of wine or overlook the sea with a cup of tea or be just a short drive from a busy town.
I’ve still got my own bathroom, can eat what and when I want and take my favourite people along too (usually- not now obviously).

Sewing, reading, gardening, being creative, always feel better after exercise but don't always want to do it! Walking in the woods on a sunny day.

I love mini breaks away somewhere new. I take dds with me on my own and find new and interesting places to visit. Only stay in Premier Inn type places to keep the cost down.

Sunshine always puts me in a good mood.

A fun one...popping the foil seal of the coffee jar.

Love love love these responses! So many great ideas and nice to see it’s often the simple things in life we can get the most happiness from.
@RickOShay volunteering is a great thought and one I hadn’t considered looking into. I feel like I totally missed the self discovery phase having 2 DC’s and marrying so young, so this thread has given me so much inspiration Flowers

Travel is my favourite thought we can't at the moment even visiting local places (we are lucky to have old ruins etc near us)

My home - upcycling furniture and painting. Following home decor on Instagram and reading books

Recently learned to play the guitar

Grandadwasthatyou · 10/07/2020 09:33

Just sitting by myself listening to the birds sing without being constantly interrupted with demands. And dc are teenagers not toddlers!

90s dance music always makes me happy, reminds me of crazy holidays and partying.
I've recently learned how to play the piano, love the progress of that

Lottapianos · 10/07/2020 09:38

Food, cooking it and eating it
Exercise, especially strength training
Getting enough sleep
A really good cocktail
