Two people died on the beach yesterday. No mention of sadness there

LivinLaVidaLoki · 26/06/2020 12:26

@BarkandCheese

Skin cancer, like lung cancer, obesity related illnesses and anything caused by substance abuse aren’t sadly deaths because you brought it on yourself with reckless behaviour.

In fact if some people could sort covid deaths into sadly and deserved it they probably would. Caught it in the queue for primark? Deserved it. Went out for paper while recklessly being over seventy? Deserved it. Ate crisps on a bench? Deserved it, also don’t you know crisps make you fat and being fat makes you ill so double deserved it. Spotted an injured baby bird on your path and bravely set foot outside the front door for the first time in sixteen weeks to save it, then just as you were picking it up an evil runner came past and exhaled in your direction? Sadly death.

Unfortunately people are already doing this....

A lot of the comments about people on the beaches are about how if they get Covid they shouldn't get treatment and deserve to die, I honestly despair how awful some people can be over this. Its a disgrace.

Although it is completely lost on them that denying them treatment is an utterly pointless threat as the majority of people who have it don't require treatment...…

littlbrowndog · 26/06/2020 12:32

What does these pictures mean ?

I don’t understand them at all

LivinLaVidaLoki · 26/06/2020 12:34

Also on the despairing (god I am doing a lot of that these days), not a TAAT but anyone who tells a new mum with quite obvious health anxiety who is really struggling with this that if they "just accept the situation as it is you will feel better" needs a fucking kick in the fanny.

Its the complete lack of empathy from these people that just gives me the rage.

Teateaandmoretea · 26/06/2020 12:35

Obviously the first minister thinks this is the future for Wales rather than education Shock

Well I made a mistake reading the New scientist today.

They had a Why strange and debilitating coronavirus symptoms can last for months article.

There's about 1 in 20 who tested postive suffering long term impact - though it doesn't say what population was tested - track and traced or was it from start where only people with obvious symptoms were.

Though there was some muttering about it not being how severe they'd had inital sympotms - but if you have none, as many do, would you have been tested.

It seems very high though I knew they expected some to have long term problems.

There also seem to be some chronically infected - who keep testing positive being told they can't still be infectious but not saying what that was based on. Though I supposed track and trace would pick that up quickly.

I don't want to get the virus but I do want the economy to not collapse, tax rises not to be so much we start to struggle and my kids to get a decent education, have access to dentist and finish DD1 orthodontist treatment and for the GP and consultnat to get back to work in a way that my DDad can get desperately needed treatment from experts not nurse muddling though and trying to put off doing as much a possible though even she realised nothing is no longer an option.

Teateaandmoretea · 26/06/2020 12:40

I find it surprising it’s as low as 1 in 20. Covid is a really nasty virus and lots of people have long term effects from viruses. Think glandular fever for one, we don’t lock down for that.

Sorry, but that made me howl 😂😂😂
Orangeblossom78 · 26/06/2020 12:44

This sadly deaths thing reminds me a but of the 'deserving' and 'undeserving poor'

Again it is back and white thinking. Getting ill with covid would be about a combination of underlying health, risk..things are never that simple. But we know that.

TheGreatWave · 26/06/2020 12:45

It is simply the latest in the list of who shouldn't get treatment, been doing that since at least VE Day if not before.

Teateaandmoretea from that link South Wales Police told parents to "check where your children are" after videos of the brawl were shared on social media.

That's a easier to do if you are in the same building as them WFH or they are in places like schools.

I honestly don't know what they expect single parents or duel parent working families to do.

PinkFondantFancy · 26/06/2020 12:48

In picture 3 they are educating their children by demonstrating that that man over there is locked at home, nice and SAFE

Willitneverend · 26/06/2020 12:48

@littlbrowndog here's a close up of the final one. I think it is NS in her house and people are discussing whether it's acceptable to pee in her garden.

That's true - both DDad and FIL have been told they have some heart damage from childhood infections.

Flu's a threat to us - DS and I - we've both been told it was very probably the trigger for us developing asthma in first place that and a damp rental house.

HesterShaw1 · 26/06/2020 12:53

I was thinking the exact same thing about that early Victorian deserving and undeserving poor @orangeblossom. They still seem to have that attitude in some sectors of society, and it's rife in the States. You are poor because you dont work hard enough - end of.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 26/06/2020 12:53

I think pic 3 is someone over 65 forever more confined to their house because they are old and high risk of dying from everything and must be kept safe from that so family must wave from street for next few decades.

mightbealittlebitmad · 26/06/2020 12:54

My friend has just had her event cancelled for the beginning of August. No mention of making changes, just outright cancelled. Place was banging on about a second wave and a September lockdown.

Are other countries full of all this crap?! The last few weeks I've been seriously considering about leaving the country but I really don't want to leave my friends and family. I've carved out a life for myself and I want it to continue.

Teateaandmoretea · 26/06/2020 12:56

Place was banging on about a second wave and a September lockdown.

We’ll laugh about it in a few years I reckon

BogRollBOGOF · 26/06/2020 13:05

There's the remnants of a bird with a wing poking up in the road in front of my house, and a birds nest fallen from a tree. Am I undeserving for failing to protect innocent life?

Something that was never addressed on crisps on a bench is the middle ground that you can virtuously go for a run and unvirtuously eat crisps and my point that crisps and coke are fantastic mid-run nutrition for salt, easy energy carbs and hydration seemed to go mysteriously unchallenged...
There may be reasons why I never run off my belly despite 10 mile / 1000 calorie runs, but you need something to keep you mentally and physically going at mile 7.5 when the hill home looms. Wink

Orangeblossom78 · 26/06/2020 13:06

Oh I really hope they do not close the beaches. Thus the only place to have a swim unless you could the river which is a bit smelly.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 26/06/2020 13:06

My mum spent her happy year with pneumonia and her lungs were never quite right. We’ve spent the last 70 years largely cushioned from the 4 horses of the apocalypse here in the UK.

I’m going to prescribe 6 episodes of horrible histories for everyone.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 26/06/2020 13:07

Gap year, not happy year. Arsehole phone.

Orangeblossom78 · 26/06/2020 13:07

I was told that although I was getting shopping for elderly neighbour was not acceptable as she would only give me cash, so maybe not.
