Hi,

So in the process of trying to move. It's taken us 2 years to get to this point and the past couple of weeks have been a nightmare! Lots of stopping and starting. Lots of "we can exchange....no we can't" Just generally a stressful mess.

That, on top of everything else - home schooling a very hormonal DD, DP wfh and getting under each others feet driving each other insane , has lead to a much needed glass or two of wine, most evenings.

Anyway, shopping is delivered and I think my day is looking up, as the driver proudly announces only one substitute! Instead of the usual 20 something Confused It's one sauvignon for another. No problem.

Or so I thought......

@LinemanForTheCounty

Ffs. I once got a McCoy's meaty multipack instead of a chicken but this is a step too far. They might as well shit in your bag for life and be done with it.

It is my Sav Blanc of choice. Best lower alcohol wine I've tried, and I've tried many.
Enjoy.

9% isn't that low, OP ... just think how awful it would have been if they'd sent you one of those really low alcohol 4% jobs. My solution would be to drink the whole bottle.

@RedDiamond

Could be even worse, I ordered Gin, tonic & half a dozen wines. Only the tonic turned up and this was at 9pm at night!!!! And a Friday night!

I am happy to name and shame, MORRISONS as this is the second time they have delivered with no alcohol. I shall not be using them again.

You wait until you’ve ran out, before ordering more? That’s just weird.

The OP ordered heroin and they delivered methadone.

Druggies are never satisfied.

I once got decaf Azeera instead of the normal stuff. Even the delivery driver agreed that was really not on!
Some while ago DH and I did a quick shop in Asda. Picked up some fizzy booze. Except normally with a fizzy wine I can have two glasses and I hit my limit. We'd drowned a whole bottle and had started a second and I wasn't feeling anything!
Took a closer look - I'd picked up something called "Charlemagne". Very low alcohol. We downed the lot and vowed to pay more attention in future.

If there was any way I could squeeze a bottle of real red to you via here I would.
That’s not a substitution that’s a parallel universe.

I’m trying to think of something I could say, in order to comfort you, but there are no words. Sad You have my deepest sympathies, OP. Flowers

I’m a non drinker though I work in the drinks 🥤 industry and have loads of wine racks full , full champagne fridge and a cupboard stacked with spirits all free of course ... from work .

I made a mistake one evening of serving my friends with my 1% sparkling wine and was lucky to escape with my life ( especially as I have so much great stuff to offer them 😂)

OP you have my sympathy... that’s not on ..

You have every right to feel as aggrieved as my friends ,

A tip I was given years ago, and it works....

no matter how shit a wine is, add half a shot of vodka to the glass and it makes it palatable.

After exhaustive research over the year, you are welcome, I have found that it works on red or white, and that it doesnt actually make it taste better just that after the first glass you no longer give a shit.

Whats the brand? I’d love a decent lower alcohol wine so I can drink twice as much but have yet to find one that doesnt taste of horse pee. Not that I know what horse pee tastes of of course...

I agree. when the panic buying started I left the lemmings in the pasta and loo roll aisles and headed straight for the vino collapso. No fucking way was I risking running out of that!
