Hi,

So in the process of trying to move. It's taken us 2 years to get to this point and the past couple of weeks have been a nightmare! Lots of stopping and starting. Lots of "we can exchange....no we can't" Just generally a stressful mess.

That, on top of everything else - home schooling a very hormonal DD, DP wfh and getting under each others feet driving each other insane , has lead to a much needed glass or two of wine, most evenings.

Anyway, shopping is delivered and I think my day is looking up, as the driver proudly announces only one substitute! Instead of the usual 20 something Confused It's one sauvignon for another. No problem.

Or so I thought......

And they've misspelt bungee!

mbosnz · 18/06/2020 19:29

That is so not okay. ..

RedDiamond · 18/06/2020 19:30

Could be even worse, I ordered Gin, tonic & half a dozen wines. Only the tonic turned up and this was at 9pm at night!!!! And a Friday night!

I am happy to name and shame, MORRISONS as this is the second time they have delivered with no alcohol. I shall not be using them again.

Spritztime · 18/06/2020 19:30

@Glittertwins, it could have been worse...you're right. I'll be alright once I'm over that initial shock.

@4amWitchingHour, this could save the situation 🤔

Definitely not ok

Those are bottles that just do the rounds as no one drinks them so they just get passed onto the next dinner party host

WhatTheWhoNow · 18/06/2020 19:32

Tomorrow you might be thankful 😀

JayeAshe · 18/06/2020 19:32

Use it as a vodka mixer.

😈

JayeAshe · 18/06/2020 19:35

Works for 0% beer, too.

You're welcome.

NeedToKnow101 · 18/06/2020 19:36

Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AnnaSW1 · 18/06/2020 19:38

The fuckers!

Crockodoodle · 18/06/2020 19:39

Rebelwithallthecause yes we call th PTA wines as only suitable for school raffle.

Op the thimble of alcohol group are evidently around tonight. You are right to be fucking outraged, especially when supermarkets have shelves of suitable wine substitues.

Doobydoo · 18/06/2020 19:39

What is the point of 9% in your situation eh? If that is what you wanted that is what you would have ordered! It coukd be worse tho. Could be 2% or something. IMO low alc wine is awful tastes vile. Some alc free n lowlagers are ok though....I realise that is not the point though.

AnnaSW1 · 18/06/2020 19:40

Actually if it's still 9% it could have been worse!

Craftycorvid · 18/06/2020 19:42

The sadistic bastards! I’d have been well angry about that. Definitely mix it with vodka.

diddl · 18/06/2020 19:42

For me if I liked the taste then it would be OK.

Sarahandco · 18/06/2020 19:44

9% ! I wouldn't bother

ComDummings · 18/06/2020 19:44

It could have been alcohol free...

Spritztime · 18/06/2020 19:45

For me if I liked the taste then it would be OK.

Today, it's not about the taste Confused

Thoughts and prayers Sad

GreyishDays · 18/06/2020 19:47

Can you maybe snort it for a quick hit?

Glittertwins · 18/06/2020 19:48

I'd be really pissed off with an alcohol free sub!

RubbishQueen · 18/06/2020 19:50

That is absolutely outrageous!! I am sad for you. Sorry this has happened to you OP, you are in my thoughts x

Herdwick · 18/06/2020 19:51

I have this with Morrisons too.

I never rely on them for a wine delivery. There seems a policy of not substituting so if they don't have exactly what you ordered you just don't get wine. I nearly cried the first time they did it, now I hedge my bets and order a few different bottles in different colours and grapes at a time and stock up. If I'm lucky half of them come.

The other weird thing Morrison's seem to do is there's obviously a disconnect between what the computer says is in stock and what is actually in stock. Several times now I've had a substitute AND what I actually ordered, but only charged for the sub. Ended up with 6 packs of mince this week instead of three and the 'sub' 3 were all double the size of what I had ordered so I actually got triple.
