How do you do it?!
I've got a blanket on my lap and layers, can't get up and move about as I'm on a wired headset
Hot water bottle? Or any good tips!?

Am I missing something? Why can't you have the heating on?

36degrees · 10/06/2020 12:14

If DH is working at home at the same time and I have the heating on he starts opening windows because it makes him too hot, and I might as well stand in the garden and burn £20 notes. I do put the heating on if he's not here. In normal times I have been known to pop out to the gym and get in the sauna or jacuzzi if I've got really cold.

I have found that having a footstool under my desk helps with my posture while I type and keeps my feet warmer at the same time.

Hadenoughfornow · 10/06/2020 12:18

Move to another part of the house?

I have temporarily moved my office as kids are at home. So I've made myself more accessible to them.

I have not been cold. Normally at back of house, now at front of house. Front gets sun in morning.

Normally I sit with a blanket over me , slippers and oil heater on.

ClientQ · 10/06/2020 12:19

@ScottyDottyDooDah I can't afford it on constantly but it says it's 19c and I'm still chilly!

I can’t afford the heating on all day and my office is the coldest wee room ever.

TimeWastingButFun · 10/06/2020 12:24

Put the heating on in just that room.

ClientQ · 10/06/2020 12:25

I can try the heating in that room! I'm in an open plan living/kitchen as the desk won't fit anywhere else (small apartment, job never done from home before

It's 19c and you're cold? I only heat my house to 18c!

ClientQ · 10/06/2020 12:33

@Zoomintheroom yeah, that's what I mean! I'm not usually cold if I'm watching TV/pottering at home as this temperature but sat typing on a laptop I'm freezing Confused
It's probably just because I'm sat still for 8-9hrs

DH bought me a heated footmuff like this Its the best thing ever. Before this my feet could be blocks of ice even on hot days.

ClientQ · 10/06/2020 12:45

A heated footmuff? I am all over that Grin I wear socks in bed all year round as my feet are always freezing!

We've got a plug in heat pad

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/06/2020 12:50

We've got a plug in heat pad

Queen has a small, loud, very adorable black kitty who would love that. I think the footwarmer is a great idea, mostly because I don't think said black cat could commandeer it.

ClientQ · 10/06/2020 12:53

Yes the heat pad would be "mine. FANKS hooman, very thoughtful"
He's currently in his fluffy bed Hmm

That's freezing to me
BarbaraofSeville · 10/06/2020 16:20

Client

Snap, nearly, mines female and one eyed due to either an accident or fight, circumstances unknown.

I go with several layers, slippers and a hoody that is only removed for video calls with external clients. Plus lots of tea and the heating on boost for an hour if I need to.

I'm honestly not usually a cold person, I barely have the heating on and have windows open all year round. Heating never above 19c even in winter!
Either it's the WFH not or the hashimotos has broken me!
