Are people wearing masks out & about where you are?

This very much isn't intended as a discussion of the pros and cons of mask wearing! I'm just genuinely curious. They're a very rare sight where I am - even staff in shops & supermarkets don't bother - but I get the impression we're outliers?

France here too. About 80% - compulsory in most shops. The other reason I go out is for medical appointments and they are definitely compulsory at the hospital (which is not taking Covid patients, so supposedly relatively safe).

I know we're not discussing pros and cons... but it does seem quite widely accepted in Europe compared to the U.K. I do think they need to be used correctly by nearly everyone for the greatest protection.

Most people are wearing them in my US state - at least in my bit. I think further north they're not bothering, but they've had no cases of community transmission or deaths up there.

We have reopened restaurants, non-essential shops, doctors for non-emergency appointments, hairdressers etc, so we're all getting used to actually being in indoor spaces with other people again, and masks feel quite important as part of that.

No haven't seen anyone round here.

Very few near me......and some of them pop them up onto their head to chat to their friend who is barely 2 inches away from them never mind 2 metres, lady I saw yesterday was just wearing hers under her chin 🤷‍♀️

In suburban east London, about 40% in the street, 75% on buses and in shops. I don't wear one walking outside, but put one on when queuing and going into shops.

My parents are in a city in Yorkshire, they say maybe 10% of people are in masks, inside and outside.

I see a lot of people wearing them at bus stops. I assume they are commuting to work and London buses have no social distancing.
