Mine is a white candle wick bedspread that was my mum’s. She had it since before I was born. She died nine years ago and now I have it. I absolutely love it and could never part with it. What’s your most treasured possession?

A pinata full of (probably) moldy sweets that DS gave me when I'd been in hospitsl one Mother'S Day.

Couldn't bring myself to smash it..

Gwenhwyfar · 28/05/2020 22:44

My laptop. Not sure I care much about anything else.

MyCatTibby · 28/05/2020 22:59

My sanity....for now. Can't say my health because it isn't all that!
My friends and some family.

NietzschePeachPearPlum · 29/05/2020 09:19

I genuinely can't think of anything. I love my house and the nice things I have, but it could all be replaced.

Redwren · 29/05/2020 09:20

I've a lovely collection of rose plants, they bring me so much joy

My camera

pinktaxi · 29/05/2020 09:43

Several photo albums of my family and children when they were younger. First thing I'd save in a fire.

Giggorata · 29/05/2020 09:43

My orrery

hotstepper4 · 29/05/2020 09:47

This, my beautiful dolls house.

I've only had it 2 months. It was my dnans. She got it when I was 6, so 31 years ago. I loved it so much as a little girl. It was my dnans pride and joy. She died 2 months ago, she was my best friend and I miss her beyond words but this makes me feel closer to her

What is your most treasured possession?
Skige · 29/05/2020 09:51

My nans engagement ring.

katmarie · 29/05/2020 09:52

Probably my engagement ring. It's the one thing (other than people) that I would be totally gutted if I lost. It's not an expensive ring but it means the world to me for what it represents and how dh proposed.

7ofNine · 29/05/2020 09:55

I don't have one, unless you count children Wink

No thing seems important to me any more. Though I would pine for my kindle if it broke or disappeared.

BarbaraofSeville · 29/05/2020 10:06

Mine is probably my kindle too. I'd definitely replace it the same day if it broke or I lost it.

Dreamersandwishers · 29/05/2020 10:10

Other than people and my gorgeous dogs, it would be a small elephant charm that my mum gave me to carry on my travels.
It’s always in my bag.

puppymouse · 29/05/2020 10:14

My dog and my horse.

3LittleMonkeyz · 29/05/2020 10:17

My kids baby blanket, all three of them have used it as newborns and I hope I have it forever. We took it out once and nearly lost it. We don't take it out anymore.

TheVanguardSix · 29/05/2020 10:32

Well, not including the actual kids and the pets- the kids' first soft toys that they were given as babies and their baby blankets, their photos too.

My dad's self-portrait of his 17-year-old self which he drew in a concentration camp.

TheVanguardSix · 29/05/2020 10:34

hotstepper that is lovely. Brings a lump to my throat on this fine, sunny morning. I know we should always love people, not things, but when those things are attached to someone we've loved so dearly and lost, we cherish those objects. What a beautiful dollhouse!

stophuggingme · 29/05/2020 10:37

My dog and cats are part of the family so don’t count them

My most treasured possession is a box containing the three tiny sleep suits that each of my three children wore as newborns on the days we came home from hospital each time.
I keep them with their hospital bands and ultrasounds. If there was a fire and I could only take one item that box would be it

evilharpy · 29/05/2020 10:43

I have a few treasures. My dad's little watercolour paintbox which I was fascinated with as a child and have gone to bed cuddling more than once after he died. A swarovski crystal necklace that my mum bought for her mum in the 1960s. My husband's grandma's cookbook with her handwritten recipes and magazine clippings. My mum's 1970s kenwood chef, of all things, that brings back memories of "helping" my mum make the Christmas cake when I was tiny and all the lovely smells and getting to lick the spoon. The Jolly Christmas Postman book that I got for Christmas in 1991 and now read with my own daughter.

Possibly I'm overly sentimental!

SweetPetrichor · 29/05/2020 10:49

My childhood 'teddy' which is actually a rabbit. Had him since I was born and he has pride of place on the sofa!

My papa's diaries, and also a set of handwritten notes he sent to his mum when he was evacuated during the war and was staying with his aunt and uncle. I also have a beautiful carved wooden head created by the Fulani people of Northern Nigeria. My gran and papa (and my dad) lived in Nigeria for a while when my papa was working there as a civil engineer in the 1960s and this is one of the mementos they brought back with them.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 29/05/2020 10:50

My dog if we are counting pets.My jewellery if not.

HaudMaDug · 29/05/2020 10:51

My most treasured possession is the replacement beautiful Waterford Crystal vase which was gifted to me by a lovely friend 25 years ago. The original vase was smashed by an ex and rather than admit to my friend that it had been broken I had to shell out £300 to replace it. (Ex, dumped on the spot as he denied all knowledge of the breakage but I knew it was him as he had mentioned me valuing my vase more than him on a couple of occasions. Idiot, jealous of a vase FFS).

Ingridla · 29/05/2020 10:52

An urn containing my first sons ashes.

AlCalavicci · 29/05/2020 10:58
