(dreaming) I think I've found my new house... just a couple of teensy issues

Its a bit far to commute to work and the school run will be an absolute pig. But isn't it amazing (the kitchen table has to go though)?

The room at the top would have my telescope

I usually love church conversions but not sure about either of those. But this I could go for, a good old fashioned castle

sqirrelfriends · 26/05/2020 20:35

I love this, it's too far away though...

Too far for me. The Knightsbridge one would be great for wrk and school but just a wee tad over my budget.

Even with that property the estate agents still ballsed up the photos!

sqirrelfriends · 26/05/2020 20:45

I love the Knightsbridge property but I'm afraid the chefs kitchen may be a bit pokey. I'll have to keep looking.

Greyblueeyes · 26/05/2020 20:46

Squirrel, that home is lovely!! I now want it too!

reefedsail · 26/05/2020 20:47

The only one of these I could live in is squirrelfriends (which I do love), but that doesn't look like it's been converted from a communal building.

I think it's very difficult to make the leap from functional, communal space to a homely feel. There is an old school conversion for sale across the street from me which has been hanging around on the market forever. I think it's an example in point.

Not homely

Lordfrontpaw · 26/05/2020 20:50

I got to photo 4... why all the bottles of water and who/what is in the metal cases?

Lordfrontpaw · 26/05/2020 20:54

Blimey - some of that decor!

It would help if I assed the link- www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-73119596.html

Oh no that house is fugly. Really soulless.

I wanted to buy a converted chapel when we were house hunting. More traditional than this, though, with lots of wood and original stained glass. My husband said no because the stained glass creeped him out. I love our house now (as does he) but I still occasionally think wistfully about that chapel.

Lordfrontpaw · 26/05/2020 20:58

Actually I want a castle now. This one maybe:

I don’t agree that the original one is soulless - it is a blank canvas. I would start filling it with my work and have a proper big studio.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 26/05/2020 20:59

I hate that converted church in the op, sorry OP!

I want this for my holiday home.

www.castleist.com/1-456m-occitanie-france-17th-century-chateau-hotel-for-sale

Looks like it's currently set up like a hotel but I can find a spare mil or so to fix that Wink

Lordfrontpaw · 26/05/2020 21:03

Anyone with a spare £210k... Property in west London... really lovely street... great houses nearby and some fancy neighbours (royalty and embassy staff)...

@sqirrelfriends, don't worry about that house in Wisbech, I've sent the details to my SIL, she'll snap it up Wink. They are in London atm but aiming to move to East Anglia, she says she's not ready to downsize yet and wants space for children and grandchildren. And I'd love to have it in the family, it's so beautiful!

Lordfrontpaw · 26/05/2020 21:04

No squirrel - I want a proper castle with battlements, a moat, and a hole to stop boiling oil on people.

OP posts:
Lordfrontpaw · 26/05/2020 21:06

Just looked at the Wisbeach one and clocked the price. Bloody hell thats barely a 2 bed flat round these parts and you don’t even own it (Lease - so you are just borrowing it really).

Oh God I feel so thick. I've only ever seen Essex on TOWIE and I was looking thinking, I wonder what part of Essex that is? It looks a really pretty area Blush

Lordfrontpaw · 26/05/2020 21:12

Essex has some really lovely towns and there are some beautiful windmills too.

OP posts:
DrDavidBanner · 26/05/2020 21:12

210 grand for a parking space!?!?! Shock

Lordfrontpaw · 26/05/2020 21:14

And it’s only a lease! My sister could park her motor home on it! 😂

OP posts:
DrDavidBanner · 26/05/2020 21:14

I could live in a windmill
